Rolls-Royce opens its first showroom in Latin America

Article by Christian A., on October 19, 2012

A Rolls-Royce showroom has opened in the Av. Cidade Jardim in São Paulo, Brazil – the first Rolls-Royce showroom ever in Latin America. The appointed dealer in Brazil of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is the Via Italia Group, which is based in São Paulo. The new showroom, which is 500 square metres big, offers a relaxing ambience.

The designers considered the proper use of glass and space to get the optimum natural light. The Customer Lounge, which has bespoke-designed furniture and cabinets, makes use of leather, wood, surface finish and carpet samples, which come from the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood, England and from its famous Bespoke programme.

The company has started to take orders for all the Phantom and Ghost family models. According to Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, he is “delighted” to open its first showroom in Latin America in this region, which has been experiencing remarkable economic growth and rising demand from discriminating customers for pinnacle luxury products.

He also said that Rolls-Royce is expanding its business in several quick-growing markets and so, it’s only proper that it has a “strong presence” in Brazil. As part of the opening, Carlos Ferreirinha, the foremost Brazilian expert in luxury, hosted a cocktail party that was attended by local VIPs and customers. Tony Gordon, one of the largest names in Brazilian soul music, performed that evening.

Rolls-Royce Ghost is considered as the carmaker’s most powerful car so far, although the way its power is delivered is rather unusual compared to other vehicles. This is simply because its power is delivered elegantly at a lower pulse, instead of being generated at an up-tempo.

Moreover, Rolls-Royce’s mantra of simplicity also applies to piloting the Rolls-Royce Ghost – it is now more enjoyable to drive without any perplexity thanks to an array of engineering software and technologies included in the car.

As developed and created, the Rolls-Royce Ghost could be considered as the most driver-centric Rolls-Royce car even. This is evident with the fact the driver’s position is slightly elevated – giving the pilot not only an authoritative standpoint but also a clearer view of the road ahead. The fascia of the interior is both spacious and intuitively laid-out. It is provided with cleanly sculpted controls, with the more essential functions featuring chrome accents. A number of violin keys and an ergonomic roller-ball control could be found on the black-rimmed steering wheel, behind which lies the car’s instrument panel.

Interestingly, the control center display – which contains satellite navigation, communication, telephone and even entertainment functions -- remains hidden behind a veneered panel and only shows up when needed. These functions are managed through a central rotary controller that is surrounded by quick-access buttons on the front center console.

Customers may also avail of an array of optional driver assistance systems and technologies for their new Rolls-Royce Ghost. One of these is the so-called Comfort Entry, which makes it easier and more comfortable for the approaching driver to enter the Ghost – this option automatically unlocks the doors of the Ghost as soon as the key fob comes within 1.5 meters of the car and the chromed door handle is held. In addition, voice control allows drivers to pick any function from the control systems menu without the benefit of the central controller.
