Seat Toledo takes part in Marie Curie Carols in the City concert

Article by Anita Panait, on December 20, 2012

The new SEAT Toledo recently proved its class and practicality during the Marie Curie Carols in the City held in the spectacular and historic Southwark Cathedral in London. The December 6 concert was held to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care and was able to come up with £45,000 and counting, with donations still being taken at mariecurie.org.uk.

The concert was hosted by BBC newsreader Sophie Raworth, and was graced with performances from world renowned soprano Hayley Westenra, London choir Fever Pitch, as well as festive readings from celebrities including Californication and Truman Show star Natascha McElhone, BAFTA nominated actor Phil Davis and Lark Rise To Candleford actress Olivia Hallina. Transporting the celebrities and other VIPs of the concert are no other than a fleet of SEAT Toledos, ensuring their safety in comfortable and stylish vehicles. SEAT donated the Toledo cars for the night.

Impressed by carmaker, Ariane Buteux, Marie Curie Cancer Care Celebrity and VIP Manager, said it was wonderful to partner with SEAT for Carols in the City. She said that while they were delighted by the donation of the Toledos, they were also impressed by the professionalism of the service and warmth of the drivers.

She said that with the SEAT team in charge of transportation, she feel safe knowing that their celebrity supporters would arrive relaxed and on time for the Christmas fundraiser. Peter Brooking, SEAT Fleet & Business Sales Marketing Manager, remarked that they were delighted by the opportunity to help Marie Curie Cancer Care by providing the new Toledo model for the celebrity participants. The SEAT Toledo is currently on sale for a starting price of £12,495 RRP OTR. It is powered by the fuel efficient 1.6 TDI Ecomotive version that returns 72.4mpg and emits just 104g/km of carbon dioxide.

“The Toledo is perhaps not the most obvious choice for a VIP chauffeur car, but we were absolutely confident it would do the job with aplomb – and our confidence was well placed. That the Toledo, which has a compact footprint and a great value price, could act as transport for the VIP guests at such a prestigious event is testament to its quality and versatility of interior space.” said the press release.
