Skoda is offering a new addition to its multi award-winning Citigo line, the Citigo SPORT. With its trim based on the current Citigo SE, Citigo SPORT -- available as a three or five-door hatch -- is a new model with improved styling, lowered suspension and customized interior. The new vehicle is powered by a fuel-efficient 1.0 MPI 60PS petrol engine paired with a five-gear manual transmission.
The new Skoda Citigo SPORT features a new dynamic exterior as emphasized by black 15-inch ‘Auriga’ design alloy wheels, fog lights and tinted ‘sunset’ windows. The model also features a sports suspension that lowers the ride height by 15 mm and a bespoke styling kit that includes a front and rear spoiler and a rear diffuser.
The new Skoda Citigo SPORT dons a racing stripe which is in a color that is a contrast to the body and flows smoothly from the front to the rear. Adding to the model’s sporty appeal are additional stripes at the rear, on lower door frames and exterior mirrors. A customer could avail of the Citigo SPORT is in three colors; Candy White with red stripes, Tornado Red with black stripes and Deep Black with red stripes.
The interior of the new Skoda Citigo SPORT boasts of unique black and red sports seats, a three-spoke leather steering wheel with red stitching, leather handbrake and gearstick gaiter with red stitching and matching floor mats. The model also boasts of a two-tone grey and black dashboard and distinct grey décor instruments.
In addition, the interior of the new Skoda Citigo SPORT is highlighted by the dashboard-mounted Personal Infotainment Device (PID), multi-function technology that comes as standard on the model. PID features a five-inch touch-screen and includes advanced satellite navigation, a Bluetooth hands-free telephone connection, vehicle and trip information. It also includes a media player that can be synched to an external music device.
The new Skoda Citigo SPORT also features four additional speakers. Pricing starts at £10,290 OTR for the 3-door version and at £10,640 for the five-door version.
Meanwhile, Skoda is planning to unveil the new Skoda Octavia at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2013. The new Octavia larger than the current model, which would distinguish it from the brand Rapid compact that went on sale in October 2012 in Europe. According to Skoda, the new Octavia is around 90 mm longer and 45 mm wider than the current model. It also boasts of a wheelbase that is around 108 mm longer than the current model.
According to Skoda, the new bigger size of the new Octavia will keep the car in its unusual position of being larger than its compact segment competitors like the Ford Focus, Opel/Vauxhall Astra and the Volkswagen Golf.
