Subaru not planning an entry-level crossover due to high costs

Although vehicles such as the Nissan Juke or the Ford EcoSport as well as the brand new Jeep Renegade made quite a buzz, it appears that Subaru is not planning to follow other companies and introduce an entry-level crossover.

Although some company insiders admit that a compact crossover would be a hit and bring money to Subaru, the carmaker doesn’t have enough money to develop such a model. Subaru believes that the Juke is popular primarily in Europe and its sales are stagnant on the mentioned market.

In addition, Subaru will stick to its well-known all-wheels drive despite the fact that this system increases fuel consumption. According to AutoExpress, the Japanese car manufacturer owned by Fuji Heavy Industries, Subaru will continue investing in its motorsport return.

Subaru is also preparing to compete in the Le Mans endurance racing as Toyota is already an important player, while Nissan will return in 2015. For 2018, Subaru is preparing a new line of hybrid models which will be equipped with CVT transmissions and regenerative brakes.

The Subaru XV is an all-new crossover type of SUV that projects not just an immense presence even with a condensed sports design, but also enjoys an array of all-new features yet to be seen on an SUV.

Although the dimensions of the XV exude a sensation of sophistication and airiness, its outer design blends high-ground clearance, ample wheels, and all those features one normally would expect in an SUV.
