Infiniti will commence deliveries of its 2014 Infiniti Q50 luxury sports sedan on Aug. 5, 2013 at Infiniti retailers across the United States. The 2014 Infiniti Q50 boasts of a unique design coupled with dynamic performance and innovative technologies. It is powered either by a 328hp 3.7-liter V6 engine or 360 net hp 3.5-liter Hybrid models.

The 2014 Infiniti Q50 3.7-liter model has a starting price of $36,700 and while the 2014 Infiniti the Q50 Hybrid Premium model has a base tag of $43,950. Infiniti closed its special Q50 pre-sale program, which was disclosed at the New York International Auto Show in March, on June 30, 2013 with 3,650 orders. Those who ordered have until Oct. 31, 2013 to complete their purchases.

The 2014 Infiniti Q50 features Infiniti InTuition, a fully customizable digital environment that could link driver settings and driving characteristics to their Infiniti Intelligent Key.

The 2014 Infiniti Q50 also features Infiniti InTouch, which is a next-generation smart connectivity that boasts of dual touch-screens and a number of advanced functions. Both two versions of the 2014 Infiniti Q50 could be availed in either rear-wheel drive or Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.

The 2014 Infiniti Q50 could also come with a number of performance features like sport brakes and sport suspension tuning and could don a special sport appearance. The Q50 Hybrid boasts of one of the fastest accelerating hybrid engines and one of the most fuel-efficient powertrains in the segment.

Infiniti sports sedans have always been known for their strong presence and their exceptional proportions. This is still present in the new Q50 with the difference being it brings with it a new dimension when it comes to premium style. The exterior reveals a number of signature design features the brand is known for. These include the crescent-cut C-pillar, dynamic arch roofline, and of course, the “double arch” grille.

Its front section has been made aggressive with the sport front fascia being the same as that on the Q50 sport models. The new grille has a three-dimensional look with its textural quality made possible by how elaborate the detail is of the chrome surround and the wave mesh pattern surface. The addition of the unique LED headlights mixed in with the sharp lines of the mark lights give it that almost human appearance.

Starting from the “double arch” grille, there is a character line that is dynamic but smooth. As it starts to rise from the grille, it creates that strong first impression. After that, it actively flows on the side of the body, similar to a wave, before eventually combining with the rear section.

This creates a profile that is not only intriguing but also highly fluid. In fact, this character line shows the full the sporty and dynamic stance of the Q50. Commenting on the Q50, Senior Vice President and Chief Creative Officer Shiro Nakamura said that it mirrors the direct influence of the brand’s concepts dubbed as the “Infiniti Trilogy.” In particular, he added, the Q50 reflects the Essence.

Even then it remains to honor many of the well-known design dynamics of the past Infiniti sports sedan models, he continued. Nakamura added further that the tightened and sporty appearance of the new Q50 manages to combine well with the wider and lower proportions. Add in the fact that the interior roominess has been enhanced, resulting to that striking effect on both exterior and interior, he said.
