VansA2Z names Nissan Cabstar as the Light Truck of the Year 2012

Article by Anita Panait, on March 29, 2012

The VansA2Z’s annual awards have adjudged the Nissan Cabstar as the Light Truck of the Year. Cabstar was declared to be the best in class due to its choice of wheelbases and conversions as well as its larger cabin space that provides driver and passenger comfort. According to Neil McIntee, Editor of VansA2Z, the Cabstar performance has improved a lot after the current engines were fitted inside the light truck’s hood.

McIntee noted that the Cabstar’s interior boasts of considerable space for occupants. As for the quality of the Cabstar, McIntee described the light truck to be “uncomplaining workhorse” that fulfils the task admirably. Interested buyers could get the Cabstar with a single or crew chassis cab, with three wheelbases options: short, mid and long.

Buyers could also choose from two engine options: 2.5-litre powerplant with a choice of five or six speed manual gearbox; and a 3.0 litre powerplant equipped with a six speed manual transmission.

Buyers could also choose from a variety of conversions: Dropside, Tipper, Box Van and a Freezer/Chiller. James Douglas, corporate sales director, Nissan Motor (GB) Ltd, said that the Cabstar is perfect for urban environments as it could deliver value to any business with low cost of ownership and exceptional maneuverability.
