Video: Nissan Juke-R hits the racetrack

Nissan has high hopes for the Juke-R Concept vehicle to be a huge hit with the fans. For those who don't know, Volkswagen has previously built a monster Golf GTI equipped with a W12 engine from a Bentley. This was so brilliant that there were doubts whether the Juke-R would even come close with just half of its cylinders.

What enthusiasts should know is that this isn’t just a compact crossover powered by a big engine.

Nissan’s development team apparently succeeded at making sure that the GT-R transfer was done smoothly. Several videos were released by the automaker. The tenth one shows the engineering work involved in this project.

It shows that it’s about track proving and keeping it all together. This video concludes the mini series. What fans are thinking now is if the Nissan Juke-R would do well in a standard sprint, a braking test, a skid pad, or maybe even a lap around the Nurburgring track.

Nissan has just revealed the performance specs for the new Nissan Juke-R. The power and handling of the new crossover concept is derived from the GT-R’s famous performance. Though the Juke-R’s concept is originally developed by the Japanese brand, the RML or Ray Mallock Ltd. Group manufactures the vehicle in United Kingdom. Aside from this, Nissan Technical Centre Europe or the NTC-E also works behind the scene to ensure quality.

With a top speed of 257kph, the Juke-R can propel itself from 0-100kph in only 3.7 seconds. Thanks to its 3.8L V6 twin turbo engine with 485bhp. If that’s not all, Nissan can give you the exact handling performance of a supercar with its superior suspension system, drivetrain technology and FIA-certified split rear wing and roll cage.

If we are to compare the Juke-R with the GT-R’s performance in some level, the GT-R guarantees higher speed rating in spite the same engine. This could be due to the GTR’s outstanding aerodynamic features. Naturally, the GT-R is also lighter since the Juke’s body needs additional reinforcement for the chassis as well as for the roll cage to fit in.

As for its dimensions, the GT-R is like a twin brother of the Juke model. Both share the same length, height and wheelbase. Though there are differences in the width considering the former has 1765mm and the other is at 1910mm, we think the incredible similarities are more important. So it goes, both cars are 4135mm long, 1575mm tall with wheelbase measuring 2530mm for each. And lastly, the Juke also comes with 20-inch RAYS forge alloy wheels to complete its motorsport profile.

Most GT-R owners would be delighted to find the same technologies inside the Nissan Juke-R interior. The Juke boasts of OMP race seats with the usual GT-R instruments and controls. It also comes with the 7-inch touch screen monitor at the middle of the dashboard to make them feel right at home.

At present, Nissan’s development project is now on its last phase of performance evaluation. In a span of 22 weeks, they were able to produce (1) left hand drive and (1) right hand drive model of the same unit
