Vin Diesel confirms sixth and seventh ‘Fast and Furious’ movies

Article by Christian A., on December 26, 2011

The story being planned for the next Fast and Furious movie is so broad and would include so many characters that it will have to split in two – which means that there will be a sixth as well as a seventh movie in the works. As the discussions between the producer/actor of the franchise continued with the Fast and Furious creative team, including director Justin Lin and screenwriter Chris Morgan, they realized that a seventh movie is required for this story to be told, according to star/producer Vin Diesel.

The sixth and seventh movies are being written at the same time. During the photoshoot for its Rule Breakers 2011 portfolio, Diesel said that there’s no space to fit in what they’ve planned next in a single movie.

Fast Five, which featured Dwayne Johnson, received good reviews (actually the best in the series). It grossed sales of $626 million globally. There was a teaser at the end of this movie that hints that Eva Mendez may be coming back. Even Michelle Rodriguez is rumored to be returning too. Diesel didn’t confirm if there would be two-parts in a movie or if there would be two standalone movies. [source: TheHollywoodReporter]
