Volkswagen partners with Fender Musical to offer premium audio system

Article by Christian A., on December 10, 2010

Volkswagen of America, Inc. has teamed up with Fender Musical Instruments Corp., giving customers a live music experience while they’re driving. Select 2012 Volkswagen models will be equipped with the all-new Fender Premium Audio System.

Jonathan Browning, President and CEO, Volkswagen Group of America, said that it would be similar to having the “best seat in the house behind the wheel of a Volkswagen.”

Mark Van Vleet, Senior Vice President, Business Affairs for Fender, said that the partnership with VW enables Fender to offer a product that is “as unique, expressive and dynamic as the customers who use it.”

The new Jetta GLI is the first Volkswagen model that will feature the all-new Fender Premium Audio System that was exclusively made for the brand.

This model will arrive in dealerships this spring. The audio system will be offered in all other Jettas later and it will be available in the new 2012 midsize sedan and 2012 Beetle in the fall.

"The Fender Premium Audio System in 2012 Volkswagen models is embedded in the vehicle design. Three years of research, development and tuning in a new, state-of-the-art sound lab, resulted in a nine-speaker system that delivers uncompromised clarity, regardless of volume, with a unique sound that Americans will love." stated the press release.
