Check out these renderings of the 2018 Dacia Duster: Pickup truck, gt or coupe

Article by Christian A., on October 13, 2017

Not many may be familiar with the Dacia Duster, but for those who do, you probably know that it is insanely affordable. After being in the market for seven years, and after over a million units sold, it is finally going to get a second-generation model. To keep up with the current version, while keeping the costs minimal, Renault’s Romanian division will give the new generation the same underpinnings that will be housed in new exterior body as well as a more modern interior.

With this kind of reports circulating the net, it is unavoidable for artists with Photoshop skills to play with its current look and imagine the 2018 model year. For instance, we already found some photos from X-Tomi Design where artists are imagining all sorts of designs for the upcoming Duster. From these photos, we think that two of them may happen, while the other two are merely design experiments - the sporty GT and the three-door.

This basic version of the model with the unpainted bumpers could be an entry-level trim of the 2018 Dacia Duster. As you can see, it rides on a set of steel wheels, with unpainted side mirrors and door handles. We also heard that the company might lose the fog lights to really keep the starting price low. Some people may wonder why, but if the SUV’s unique selling point is its very affordable price, then you will probably agree.

We also think that a pickup truck is highly possible to reach the production line, especially because the company already sells one under its name in South America. The South American pickup is called the Duster Oroch, and has been in the market for two years already. If a 2018 pickup truck has been decided on, we are hoping that there will be a European version of it, but right now, it is a bit too early to tell.

What’s great about the new Duster is that despite its affordable price, it still provides driver and passengers technology that is up to date. For instance, the 2018 model will have a multi-view camera, a blind spot warning, keyless entry, and automatic headlights. Other than that, the company ensures that passengers feel comfortable with the automatic climate control and curtain airbags for added safety. That’s not all, an added 4x4 system will likely be available too.

Overall, it seems like the 2018 Duster can possibly be a big hit again for Dacia and Renault. For those of you who consider getting a new SUV or pickup, you might want to wait for the Duster - it will save you some cash too.
