Crashed 2018 Lexus LC 500 is listed for sale

Article by Christian A., on September 5, 2017

Who would buy a secondhand car that has already crashed? That would be someone who knows a good opportunity when he sees one. We know that the 2018 Lexus LC 500 had begun deliveries to its United States customers recently. But apparently, one has already crashed and it’s now being sold on Copart.

With only as little as 777 miles on its odometer, the two-door sports coupe’s life has already been cut short after the accident. The vehicle is being sold by State Farm Insurance, with a title that says it had been salvaged but is repairable. Here’s the thing, it will be challenging and costly to repair a model like the Lexus LC 500, considering that it is a 2018 model.

Based on the photo that had been posted, the LC 500 has gone through a painful hit up on the front fascia. The bumper, spindle grille, hood and front quarter panels have been seriously damaged. That is not all, even the windshield has been shattered, while the radiator has been pushed out of place. Furthermore, the undercarriage was also seriously damaged, which caused the steering wheel and curtain airbags to be inflated.

A new LC 500 has a starting price of $92,000, and this crashed model is currently at $31,250, offered by the highest bidder, and that is much cheaper than a brand new model. This LC 500 can definitely return to an almost-new condition with some TLC, but how much would it cost? Any guesses?

A brand new 2018 Lexus LC 500 comes with a 5.0 liter V8 engine with as much as 471 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque at 4,800 rpm. This model has an average fuel consumption of 12.2 liters per 100 kilometers. The engine works with a CVT that gives power to the rear wheels.

In the cabin, the luxury coupe is made of high quality leather or suede materials that cover the surfaces, and you will definitely notice the attention to detail it has been given. Considering that it is a two-door coupe, the rear passengers still get a lot of legroom, while the trunk has a storage of 132 liters, that’s just enough to fit in a pair of suitcases.

Standard features that come with the LC500 include a dual-zone automatic climate control, power locks, windows and heated mirrors. It will be featuring adaptive cruise control, heated/cooled seats with memory, and a heated steering wheel. As for the technology, it comes with a Mark Levinson sound system with 13 speakers and a 10.3-inch display with navigation, Lexus Remote Touch, back-up camera and blind spot monitoring.
