It can be recalled that the 32-year old football champ gifted himself with his very own Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse after winning the UEFA Euro Cup in 2016. Fast forward to the present, Cristiano Ronaldo has recently showed off his brand new Bugatti Chiron hypercar after Real Madrid’s win over Borussia Dortmund. Seen from his official Instagram account, the football superstar posted a video while taking his son for a ride on board this highly exotic machine.
While the video was captured just as the two were leaving the driveway, another post shows a picture of the hypercar still parked in front of the building. The video, with a caption that reads; “new animal in the building Bugatti Chiron” has currently earned over 16 million views after it was posted only four days ago.
Ronaldo spent nearly 2.4 million euros just to get his hands on the new 1,500hp, 1,180lb-ft Chiron, a limited production hypercar with only 500 units. That’s about 3 million USD, equivalent to about £1.85 million. Either way, the footballer’s hypercar features a two-tone grey black finish, thus, showing his taste is more subdued unlike the first Chiron that came to the US dressed up in a yellow and black combo.
Despite the scarce details on the number of personalized upgrades he availed for his new exotic vehicle, others are quick to notice the elegant seats that come with an embossed CR7 imprinted on each of the headrests. Clearly, the CR7 stands for his initials and the number seven on his team’s jersey. He’s using the number 7 when playing as forward both in Real Madrid and the Portugal national team.
Having recently won the Champions League which also happens to be his 400th appearance and 411th goal for Real, Ronaldo deserves a gift or in this case another expensive machine to add to his growing car collection. The Portuguese soccer star with an annual paycheck of 30 million USD also owns a number of exotic cars which includes some Porsches, Lamborghinis and Ferraris.
Now that there’s a new beast in his garage, we’re wondering if he could beat Juan Pablo Montoya’s 0-249-0 miles per hour record in a Bugatti Chiron. After all, who wouldn’t want a new challenge? The IndyCar driver drove his Bugatti from a zero to 400kph (249mph) in just 32.6 seconds which covers 10,209 feet or 3,112 meters before completing the round in 41.96 seconds. The 0-249-0 mph record run was part of the 2018 Bugatti Chiron First Drive challenge. Whether or not the Real Madrid superstar will dare to compete on this side of the fence is a completely different story though.
