As there are only 375 McLaren P1s in the world and all of them have been completely sold out, McLaren’s hybrid hypercar is truly one of its kind. But what if we tell you there is one that actually stands out among all the McLaren P1s out there? Not only that, it has also increased in market value bearing in mind the $1.3M price tag that initially came with the P1.
Currently on sale at James Edition is an extremely unique example of McLaren P1 by McLaren Special Operations. Its seller, Premium Automotive Concept, is based in Germany and has been selling it with a listed price of €2.170.000 (or approximately 2,561.468 USD).
The owner of this particularly rare example had first ordered it in matte black as you can see from the photo. But then the rest of its body panels are finished either in carbon fiber or gloss black as well, making it stand out all the more from any regular P1s we’ve seen before.
Other enhancements include red pinstripes, red brake calipers and red interior trims that blend seamlessly to the black leather seats with red combination. Included too are the carbon fiber accents throughout the interior complementing with the rest of the hypercar's upholstery.
According to the listing, the 2014 McLaren P1 MSO has a total accumulated mileage of 908km (609mi). The description says it has been painted with MSO Carbon matte black with MSO gloss black mirrors, gloss black side part, gloss black front and rear bumper including the rear wing in the same MSO gloss finish. With regards to its other details, MSO applied the carbon finish at the air vent covers and the dashboard cover in particular while the gloss finish continues all throughout the P1’s interior buttons and among several other MSO carbon parts of the hypercar.
Both MSO Stealth Pack and Stealth badge set were availed by its first owner which is evident on the red MSO P1 logo on the engine cover and Stealth wheel finishes. Alcantara black was used for the MSO door covers including those on the dashboard and steering wheel while red Alcantara has been applied on the seats instead.
Spec details indicate that the used McLaren P1 MSO from the 2014 model year comes with rear wheel drivetrain together with an eight-cylinder petrol engine with 916PS (683kW).
At this point, McLaren is once again getting its hands busy and is prepping for the P1’s future successor. There isn’t much to say yet, but it is said to bear the codename of BP23 Hyper-GT which will inevitably become McLaren’s fastest production car to date.
