The new McLaren Senna isn't your ordinary car on the road. It is a supercar that delivers 800 PS (789 hp), pays tribute to legendary Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna, and is available in a limited run of 500 examples. Now, one of these 500 examples has arrived in New York City, as delivered to renowned car collector Michael Fux.
Arriving at the garage of Fux is the first McLaren Senna made for North America. Furthermore, this example of the Senna was personalized for its owner by McLaren Special Operations (MSO). By taking a good look at the extensive bespoke content of this Senna example, it is safe to assume that Fux has really made this supercar an extension of his own personality.
Dubbed as the Fux Green McLaren Senna, this example features a Full Visual Carbon Fiber Body, as finished in a custom emerald green dubbed as Fux Green. This full body set has 67 parts, all needing nearly 1,000 hours to produce. The exterior is rounded off by blue-and-red wheel center lock nuts as well as ball-polished wheels.
The Fux Green carbon theme is continued in the cabin with a high gloss finish. This color is made more prominent by fascia, seats, steering wheel and door uppers that are all wrapped in bright white leather. The seats and the steering wheel are accented by green contrast stitching. The door struts and rear-view mirror are all finished in green, while the headliner is still wrapped in Carbon Black Alcantara.
Interestingly, Fux already owns another McLaren supercar as personalized to his own taste – a McLaren 720S. Featuring a Fux Fuchsia exterior and a bright white interior, this 720S was displayed Concept Car Lawn at the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Fux also owns a 12C in McLaren Orange and a 12C Spider in bespoke purple. The McLaren Senna is part of the carmaker’s Ultimate Series while the 720S is a Super Series model.
Fux will have his bespoke displayed on August 24 at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering during the Monterey Car Week.
With a price of at least £750,000, each example of the McLaren Senna is hand-assembled by the carmaker’s specialists at the McLaren Production Centre in Woking, Surrey, England. However, Senna examples commissioned from MSO takes longer to produce and comes with a premium price. Dubbed as McLaren’s most track-focused, road legal car, the Senna was developed with the help of Bruno Senna, nephew of Ayrton, a three-time F1 world champion. Bruno is currently a professional racer piloting for Rebellion Racing in the FIA World Endurance Championshiop.
Under the bonnet of the McLaren Senna is a biturbo 4.0 liter V8 engine that can deliver 800 PS (789 hp) of max output and 590 lb.-ft. (800 Nm) of peak torque – or around 79 hp and 22 lb.-ft. (30 Nm) more powerful than the 720S.
