Nissan X-Trail battles the desert with this red Desert Warrior version [w/video]

Driving on well-paved roads is pretty easy, especially if you are behind the wheel of a new Nissan X-Trail. Managing through some rough roads and rugged terrain would not be as easy, but the Nissan X-Trail should still be able to pull through. But, how about driving on a desert?

Sure enough, driving on a desert is not an easy thing to accomplish. It is basically because the desert is literally filled with sand. Traction, handling and steering are different when one is on the desert. Pushing the brakes too hard or slamming hard on the accelerator could push the tires into the sand. There is also the challenge of managing through giant sand dunes. Essentially, the fear of driving on the desert is related to getting stuck in the sand.

But this is not a concern with this Nissan X-Trail on the video. This Nissan X-Trail is not your ordinary X-Trail. After all, it is the Nissan X-Trail Desert Warrior, which as its name indicates, is all-set and prepped to bring the driving battle to the desert. Obviously, this Nissan X-Trail Desert Warrior features no wheels. It is fitted with a set of probably customized metal tracks that allow the Nissan X-Trail Desert Warrior to traverse the sandy desert sans any major difficulties. While there are tires suitable for challenging the desert, these metal tracks are more suitable in gaining better traction, improving handling and enhancing steering.

The video – a promotional two-minute clip created or commissioned by the Japanese carmaker – starts off with a brief yet precise description of the desert, in the Arab language. Around 14 seconds into the video, a red Nissan X-Trail Desert Warrior enters the scene, accommodating three occupants. This red Nissan X-Trail Desert Warrior is seen battling the sand dunes, leaving a trail behind.

However, in the middle of the desert adventure of this trio, they ran out of water. So, they cruised and battled the desert once more until they found a tent where a man was more than willing to give them some water to quench their thirst. Interestingly, this guy also brought a white regular Nissan X-Trail. These four men took off with the white Nissan X-Trail, and once again challenged the desert. If there is something that this video promotes, it is that a conventional Nissan X-Trail with conventional wheels is capable of dynamically making its way through the desert and starting a new adventure.

Nissan’s marketers deserve a round of applause for this work. It was good enough to show that the Nissan X-Trail is also a vehicle that is capable of tackling the desert environment – a campaign aimed at attracting customers in markets like the Middle East. However, the Nissan X-Trail Desert Warrior is not for sale. It is a marketing tool especially created for the Jeddah International Exhibition and Convention Center, in Saudi Arabia.
