Pennzoil powerslides with the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon in new video

A Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is seen running amok in the streets of Pittsburgh from the new Pennzoil ad. “Exorcising the Demon”, as the video title shows, features Rhys Millen and the 840hp Dodge Challenger SRT. To some it may appear as if the high performance synthetic oil brand only wants us to marvel at how the American muscle car can actually drift and perform stunts. Still, the video is incredibly thrilling to watch. It leaves no doubt that it is indeed a stunningly powerful car.

The first part of the video was shot in what looks like a church where all of a sudden there are Pennzoil containers mysteriously falling off the shelves. At some point, you will see a shadowy figure (or what must be a guy wearing a hood) before the video finally takes you to the real action.

The Demon will be seen flying off the bridges and going down an empty tunnel in what seemed like a Hollywood action film. With the 840hp 6.2-liter V8, we think the Demon has more than enough power to drift and drag anywhere it pleases. Overall, Penzzoil effortlessly demonstrates the wild side of the Demon though it is actually designed for the drag strip.

It is also fascinating to see the last part where Millen (the hooded guy) parks the car under a devilish figure as he goes up the tower to send a message that reads; “the demon is back in its place”. There’s an interesting cliffhanger there worth watching as he waits for the reply. The new Pennzoil ad was released on August 14 with a total of 135,034 views as of this writing.

Apparently, the oil company did a similar video clip just this year as a send-off to the Dodge Viper. Pennzoil for sure knows how to promote synthetic oils by featuring high performance cars and famous personalities. For this ad, they have pro drifter and former rally driver Rhys Millen posing as the mysterious guy. We think there’s no one better for the role. Millen is one of the top drifting and rallycross competitors in the United States and there’s no sign that he’s going to give up his spot anytime soon.

Apart from breaking loose, smoking tires and performing wheelies, Millen’s cinematic stunt has an accompanying behind the scenes video entitled “Unleashing Unprecedented Power”. By watching it on YouTube, you will see and hear more about how it is choreographed and of course learn more about the power of Pennzoil synthetic oils.
