Volkswagen has brought the MOMO Edition Jetta GLI to the 2016 Chicago Auto Show following its debut last year at the SEMA Show. Built with the all-new Jetta GLI, the MOMO Edition is made with an OEM-Plus tuning with an Italian flair to appeal to sports-oriented customers. With its 19-inch MOMO aluminum-alloy wheels and the Volkswagen 210-hp, 2.0-liter TSI turbocharged and direct-injection EA888 four-cylinder engine, the Jetta GLI offer superior performance and style.
The GLJ 19"x8.5" MOMO Revenge wheels demonstrate the first "mesh" wheel design, filling the GLI fenders sharply. The split-10 spoke wheels come with concave centers and raised caps, perfectly fitting the 235/35 XR19 Pirelli P Zero tires. For precise cornering tune-in and better handling, the MOMO Edition has low-profile tire sidewalls and uses H&R suspension components.
These features include H&R Street Performance coilovers located at each corner as well as front and rear sway bars, which provide a tuned ride height for a bolder stance. Complementing the 210-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder Volkswagen engine is a Milltek Sport stainless steel cat-back exhaust that increases breathability and provides a distinctive, sporty sound.
Brembo also equipped the MOMO Edition with the 14.40-in. diameter cross-drilled, two-piece front rotors and monobloc four-piston calipers to easily and quickly bring the car to a halt. The braking system is upgraded with large 12.20-in. rear rotors and calipers from the Golf R, finished with vibrant yellow accents.
2016 GLI's interior is built with the MIB 2 infotainment system that includes the innovative full suite of USB and VW Car-Net App-Connect connectivity. Moreover, the upgrades include enhanced styling cues that complement a stronger driver connection. The yellow color scheme is adapted in the cabin with a trim strip that flows along the door panels, dashboard, seating stitching, and shift and e-brake boots.
The color scheme matches the trims of the limited-edition MOMO GT50 Anniversario steering wheel, which represents the brand's anniversary. Further connectivity functions include a vehicle information display in the driver's air vent manufactured by P3 Cars.
For practicality purposes, the display is invisible when the ignition is turned off. Meanwhile, when driving, the display shows all vital driving information such as turbo boost, coolant temperature, exhaust gas temperature, outside temperature, throttle position, speed, and many more.
Other upgrades include a series of exclusive items from the Volkswagen Accessories collection such as first aid kit, personalized floor mats, roof rack, trunk liner, door sill protectors, cargo grips, and cargo net.
