Toyota’s big plan for the 2018 Chicago Auto Show was to reveal their updated and more powerful 2019 TRD Pro lineup of off road ready models. These models consist of the 4Runner, Tacoma and the Tundra. One of the upgrades here is the 2.5 inch internal bypass shock absorbers from Fox. Customers can get any of the three models in shades like Midnight Black Metallic, Super White or the exclusive Voodoo Blue.
The Fox shocks are initially soft, but they become stiffer as the piston moves through it. The oil increases volume for better damping during hard driving - thanks to the external reservoirs. Dust boots, on the other hand, protect parts from debris.
First up is the 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro that got suspension upgrades for when the road gets rough. The front part is raised by an inch, because of the spring, and there’s a larger front sway bar for easier handling. Important mechanical parts are protected by the skid plates that also give the TRD a better style. A set of 16 inch wheels was added and was finished in black. These are then wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler Kevlar All-Terrain tires.
Outside, it had been given LED fog lights, dark exhaust tip, and black bezels around the taillights. Buyers can opt to have the optional TRD Desert Air Intake too, to breathe out dust from the air. Inside, it has a good balance of comfort with the infotainment system, leather trimmed seats that feature TRD Pro emblems, and of course, the subwoofer for the stereo.
Next up is the 2019 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, this is ideal for those looking for a little more room. Its new springs make it two inches higher and there is a 1.5 inch improvement in wheel travel. Rear wheel travel is then boosted by two inches.
This model has a black trim around the LED headlights and comes with LED fog lights. It now sits on a set of 18 inch five spoke, black wheels from BBS that make it weigh less by 13.4 pounds. It also has a pair of dark exhaust tips that stick out from the back. The Tundra’s interior is covered in leather seats with red stitching, and there’s an emblem on the center console.
Last but not the least, is the 2019 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro. This gets similar upgrades as its siblings, including LED fog lights and smoked trim around the headlights. Front wheel travel has been boosted by the updated springs. It now comes with a set of 17-inch black wheels, dressed in all terrain tires. There is a roof rack that hauls your gear when you go on an adventure.
Inside it are similar niceties like the TRD-branded accents, and the infotainment system that comes standard with navigation.
