A restyled Ram Laramie Limited trim was unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show, featuring a reworked tailgate, front fascia and crosshair grille. The restyled trim will initially be available on the light-duty Ram 1500 in the second quarter as a MY2015 model and later on heavy-duty pickup models in the third quarter as MY2016 models.
Ram brand chief Bob Hegbloom remarked in January that the the refreshed Laramie Limited will cater to high-end pickup customer who prefer luxury features in their extensively used vehicles. He remarked that this set of customers goes to work, “but they own the company.” He disclosed that around 20 percent of all pickups Ram sells are in its top-level Laramie trim or above, including the Laramie Limited and the Laramie Longhorn.
The Laramie Limited trim features a refreshed exterior styling distinct from the big-rig-inspired grille on the current model. The trim boasts of a new grille where the brand’s name in chrome replaces the Ram’s head. It is now located in the center over chromed horizontal lines covering the opening.
The trim also does away from Ram’s head logo on the tailgate, now replaced by the brand’s name in 5-inch tall capital letters. Exterior lighting for the trim in includes halogen projector headlights with blackened accents with the Ram’s head logo.
It also includes LED indicator and brake lights. The trim also features 20-inch forged aluminum wheels. Inside, revisions are minimal like a limited interior color and a tablet and cell phone holder located at the center bin.
