2014 NAIAS: 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe gets ready to take on BMW 4-Series [Live Photos]

As you may know already, Cadillac unveiled at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show the 2015 ATS Coupe, a vehicle that will take on cars such as the BMW 4-Series Coupe and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe. The new Cadillac ATS Coupe will hit the dealerships in the United States by summer and will be the first production vehicle that will get the revised Cadillac emblem featuring a wider and more intricate crest.

Two powertrain options will be available, same used by the sedan: a standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 272 hp and 205 lb-ft of torque and the bigger 3.6-liter V6 that generates 321 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque.

Both engine will use a six-speed automatic transmission with tap-shift control and according to GM, the 2015 ATS Coupe equipped with the 2.0-liter engine will be capable to go from naught to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds, a little bit faster than the sedan of course.

Inside, the ATS Coupe will offer the SIRI voice recognition technology for iPhone users, a text-to-voice feature and the 4G LTE broadband service through OnStar.

While the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe has the same wheelbase (109.3 inches or 2,775 mm) as the sedan version, it is provided with exclusive body work – distinct doors, roof, rear fenders and trunk lid as well as front fascia. Even the standard 18-inch wheels are exclusive to the coupe. The 2015 ATS Coupe is also provided with front fenders that could accommodate a wider track than the sedan. In addition, the 2015 ATS Coupe is Cadillac’s first production model to bear its revised crest.

Cadillac has provided the new ATS Coupe with an assertive stance, as defined by front and rear tracks that are wider than on the sedan. This stance is also boosted by the short overhangs and sheet metal wrapping tightly around the tires.

As expected, the new ATS Coupe features Cadillac’s signature bold lighting elements, as enhanced by the employment of available LED headlamps with Adaptive Forward Lighting. Base versions of the ATS Coupe are provided with projector-beam headlamps, with higher models featuring high-intensity-discharge headlamps and front vertical LED light signatures. Performance and Premium collections are specified with illuminating exterior door handles, conveying the coupe’s style and function. All models of the 2015 ATS Coupe come with LED tail lights and rear-center stop lamp. Capless fuelling is another groundbreaking feature of the new ATS Coupe.

Meanwhile, the interior of the new Cadillac ATS Coupe has been centered on the driver, just like that of the sedan. The interior of the ATS Coupe comes with handcrafted cut-and-sewn upholstery decorative stitching. It makes use of authentic materials like aluminum, carbon fiber, leather and wood.
