Infiniti Q60 Concept shows its face ahead of 2015 Detroit Auto Show

Article by Christian A., on January 5, 2015

Just ahead of the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, Infiniti unveiled its latest Q60 Concept, a vehicle that previews an upcoming premium sports coupe. Clearly inspired by the Q80 Inspiration Concept that was unveiled back in October at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the new Q60 Concept features a low roofline, while the aerodynamic gills located behind the front wheel arches are inspired by the Q50 Eau Rouge Concept.

In addition, there are new 21-inch wheels inspired by jet turbines blades, with black spokes in a combination of mattes and chromes which stretch to the edge.

Inside, the Q60 Concept arrives with a variety of leathers that provide the perfect balance of comfort and support, but also with plenty of legroom for the rear passengers as it is a genuine “2+2” coupe. The quilted leather seats are also inspired by the Q80 Inspiration Concept.

“The Q80 Inspiration was an indication of Infiniti’s future design language,” said Alfonso Albaisa, Infiniti Executive Design Director. “The Q60 Concept is the next step in the journey.”

“The sweeping lines of the Q80 Inspiration gave the Q60 Concept its coupe silhouette and looks while the Formula One-inspired touches from the Q50 Eau Rouge endowed the coupe with its sports personality.”
