Chrysler will unveil the 2015 Chrysler 200 at the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), but the first images already emerged on the Web. As you can see from the photos, the 2015 Chrysler 200 looks much better than its predecessor, but we have to mention that the model presented here is wearing the S trim.
Some of the highlights of the 2015 Chrysler 200 are the standard nine-speed automatic transmission which enables a highway fuel economy rating of 35 miles per gallon. Moreover, the Chrysler 200 comes with the optional all-wheel-drive system that delivers an automatic fully disconnecting rear axle in order to improve fuel economy by reducing loss when all-wheel drive is not needed.
A choice of two engines will be available: the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine rated at 295 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque or the standard 2.4-liter MultiAir Tigershark I-4 engine that produces 184 hp and 173 lb-ft of torque. The 2015 Chrysler 200 features state-of-the-art electronic shifting with rotary dial.
Inside, we find an inventive center console offering pass-through storage space for driver and passengers, covered charging station and sliding cupholders. Chrysler says that the new 200 delivers an array of easy-to-use, state-of-the-art advanced technology in order to keep drivers connected and informed but focused on the road. Pricing starts at $21,700 (excluding $995 destination).
The new 2015 Chrysler 200 drew inspiration from American designers to be handsomely crafted throughout. The new 200 changes what buyers look for in a mid-sized sedan. The 2015 200 expresses the Chrysler’s new face and combines ageless design cues to allow the vehicle to communicate its story.
Sleek, dramatic surfaces characterise the new 2015 Chrysler 200. This is ageless American designing grounded in simple gracefulness. The 200 sedan has strong, soulful poise, embodying a forceful, sculpted shape that every driver will long to handle. The minimal design is not overly decorative or full of too many lines, rather, it features voluptuous outlines and flowing shapes, that focus on its coupe-like look.
New Chrysler 200 introduces the Chrysler’s new face. The integrated grille and headlamps are a first, and the augmented Chrysler emblem emphasises the wing that now has more definition.
The hallmark light pipe or available fully LED daytime running lights (DRLs), LED fog lights, and standard LED taillights provide the new Chrysler 200 a distinct, identifiable appearance as it approaches and as it drives away.
Chrysler’s 200S model embodies an absolute style, darker, more intimidating, not seen on other models in this range, or in the mid-sized sedan sector. The 2015 Chrysler 200S has a black gloss trim and accent components instead of the typical brighter trim. The select styling of the daylight opening (DLO) trimming, the section around the side windows, is black gloss.
The 2015 200 is the only automobile in its segment that has this touch. Combined twin exhausts come standard, and the optional 19” Hyper Black aluminium wheels finish the look. The more intimidating look of the 2015 200S model counterbalances the sportier drive experience that the S model offers.
