2013 IAA: Bmw 4-Series Coupe shows its muscular lines [Live Photos]

The new BMW 4 Series Coupe – the fourth generation of BMW’s sporty mid-size Coupe – has been launched. It is said to usher in BMW’s new coupe era. The new BMW 4 Series Coupe exemplifies the essence of the premium segment’s aesthetic appeal and dynamics. It has stylish features that give it a strong presence, making it stand out due to its dynamism and promise of driving pleasure.

Said to be the final chapter in the road to development, the new BMW 4 Series Coupe is the epitome of balanced proportions. The “4” in its name shows off not just its stand-alone design but also how different it is technically from its BMW 3 Series cousins. The new BMW 4 Series Coupe is obviously wider and has a bigger wheelbase compared to the outgoing BMW 3 Series Coupe.

Its dynamically stretched coupe silhouette is significantly lower. Because of this characteristic as well as the usual short overhangs from BMW, long bonnet and set-back passenger compartment with flowing roofline, the BMW 4 Series Coupe boasts a flawless visual balance.

The car has a front end that’s attention-getting with design features to be expected from BMW like the double-kidney grille, twin circular headlights and a big air intake in the front apron. BMW has made its family ties with the BMW 3 Series apparent. The BMW 4 Series Coupe is sportier and very dynamic. What’s new on the BMW 4 Series Coupe are the Air Breathers, placed rearwards of the front wheel arches to lessen drag in this area.

The design of the rear appears to be hunkered down due to its muscular wheel arches and wide track as well as its bold horizontal lines. The BMW 4 Series Coupe has an interior that displays a combination of sporting appeal and exclusivity. The driver will appreciate the ergonomic arrangement of the controls around, allowing for the optimum access to all functions.

The sportiness of the BMW 4 Series Coupe is underlined further with the powerfully contoured seats in the rear compartment. The rear bench appears to be two individual seats because of its use of recessed head restraints and broad, continuously moulded side supports. The new BMW 4 Series Coupe has a truly premium ambience as the automaker used high-grade materials and unrivaled finish quality. Buyers can choose from three equipment combinations (Sport Line, Modern Line and Luxury Line packages). BMW also offers an M Sport package as an alternative.
