BMW M GmbH has released its newest Competition Edition during the 66th Frankfurt International Motor Show (IAA). BMW M6 Coupe Competition Edition has the Competition Package with its V8 4.4-litre petrol engine and M TwinPower Turbo technology.
The engine enables power output of 441 kW (600 hp) with 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of maximum torque. Combining it with the M Driverʼs Package, albeit optional, can result to a peak speed of 305 km/h or around 189.5 mph. the same package gives a combined CO2 emissions rating of 231 g/km with a combined fuel consumption of 28.5 mpg (9.9/100 km).
The interior shows BMW trademark with the fine-grain full leather Merino and black contrast stitching. This feature is also available in the Yellow with Austin Yellow metallic paintwork and the Opal White with its Alpine White paintwork.
Regardless of what option is chosen it manages to highlight the exclusive sporty ambience that is only found in BMW. This Edition model is made even more exclusive with the “M6 Competition” signature in different parts like the cupholder lids, door sills, and of course its side gill elements.
Quality is emphasized with the gear selector, interior trim strips, and M sports steering wheel spokes, composed of light carbon fiber. Its steering wheel rim meanwhile has been lined with the grippy and elegant Alcantara. The driver side and the front passenger have M multifunction seats with a Head-Up Display.
In order to ensure maximum sound experience, BMW fitted it with the Bang & Olufsen High-End or Harman Kardon Surround Sound System with a 1,200-watt output through 16 speakers.
The exterior on the other hand is just as amazing with the option of two paintwork colors with the luminous metallic Austin Yellow or dazzling Alpine White.
The Alpine White in particular highlights further the bodywork stripes in the iconic BMW M colors. This is the same design as seen on the BMW’s race version of the M6 GT3. Providing a good contrast to either paintwork options are the M light-alloy 20-inch matt-black wheels with the double-spoke 343 styling and mixed tires.
Highlighting the powerful and sporty appearance of the M6 Coupe Competition further are the exterior mirror caps in carbon-fiber, the black-chromed side gills, door handles, and kidney grille. Aside from improving the design, the M rear spoiler made of carbon fiber and paired with the carbon-fiber rear diffusor also optimizes the airflow.
Though it was just presented last 17–27 September 2015 during the IAA, BMW will start accepting orders for the Competition Edition starting at a price of EUR 17,700. Those who want to have the BMW M6 kitted with its Competition Edition will need the Competition Package valued at EUR 9,500.
It will also need the multifunction seats at EUR 1,950 and the 20-inch M light-alloy wheels at EUR 400. A smoker’s package is also available at EUR 50. For those who want the ultimate audio experience, there is a choice between the Bang & Olufsen valued at EUR 4,950, while Harman Kardon is at EUR 1,290.
Attached are the M6 Coupe Competition’s different technical specifications. All of these lead to the M6 Coupe Competition raising the individualization level to even superior heights. With its amazing carbon-fiber components, leather with the contrast stitching, wide array of details, and paintwork colors, the M6 Coupe Competition is indeed exclusive.
