Brabus has a new tuning program for the 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 S and that is the additional 88 horsepower (65 kilowatts) it can give the E63 S. After countless test drives on racetracks and streets, the company has developed a plug-and-play auxiliary control unit that upgrades the electronic engine control unit with new mapping for ignition and injection, thus boosting pressure.
With Brabus’ new upgrade, the 4.0 liter biturbo V8 engine can now produce a total of 700 horsepower (515 kilowatts) and now 701 pound-feet (900 Newton-metres) of torque, from only 627 pound feet (850 Newton-metres) before. It comes with a nine-speed automatic gearbox and 4Matic system that channels power to all four wheels. After the upgrade, the E63 sedan can now accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in only 3.2 seconds, while the heavier station wagon can do it in 3.3 seconds.
The Brabus 700 is the perfect solution for those who thought that the 603 horsepower E63 S is underpowered.
To manage the sound, all E63 S trims have a fully stainless exhaust system with electronically controlled flaps. The model also features a “Coming Home” mode that activates a friendlier and more civilized exhaust system when being driven in urban areas.
Moreover, Brabus completely developed the car’s Mercedes-AMG E63 S aerodynamic body kit with the use of extremely light but durable carbon fiber, which can be finished with high-gloss or matte protective coating. Brabus has optimized it into a wind tunnel that consists of front spoiler lip, front bumper with large air intakes, and rear spoiler and diffuser. The E63 will be riding on 21-inch wheels with a wide range of designs they can choose from.
As for the interior, Brabus promised to offer a “virtually endless” range of colours for the cabin, with endless customization options. There will be details of Alcantara, as well as new aluminum gear shift paddles, pedals and door lock pins. In the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, Brabus will display an example that will have a two-tone, black-red all-leather interior, which you can also see in the images the tuner released. Expect to see the S65 Cabriolet-based Rocket 900 alongside the Brabus 700 at this month’s largest auto show.
You can get this Mercedes-AMG E63 S Brabus 700 as a whole, but those who already have an E63 can have their car tuned to give it the same upgrades. What are your thoughts on this Brabus 700? Do you think the E63 needed that level of power boost?
