Kia is now headed to Europe for this year’s 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show which is slated to begin next week September 14 and stay open until the 24th. Tagging along the much anticipated Proceed concept is the SUV- inspired Picanto X-Line and the refreshed 2018 Kia Sorento Facelift. While the Sorento’s first public debut is only several days from now, Kia has already revealed the new look of the seven-seater SUV along with the announcement of a new GT line.
The new Sorento features a redesigned exterior and interior and is packed with Kia’s most advanced in-car and safety technologies. Apart from the new GT line, the new SUV will come available in the new 8-speed automatic transmission which comes exclusively with the 2.2-liter diesel engine.
While the existing six speed manual will still be offered, Kia is also introducing the new 2.2 liter diesel Sorento with 8-Speed Automatic transmission as a replacement for the current 6-speed AT variant. The new transmission is expected to offer smoother and faster gear changes aside from delivering lower CO2 emissions from 172g/km to 159. The new Sorento will feature four modes of driving (Smart, Sport, Comfort and Eco) to help achieve its optimum fuel efficiency.
