Nissan will unveil a new production model at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new model will have its global debut at 1:15 pm CET on Sept. 10, 2013, at Nissan’s stand in Hall 8. Nissan is targeting to become the top Asian car brand across Europe by 2016, and could already lay claim as the best-selling brand in major markets in the region like France, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Guillaume Cartier, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, for Nissan in Europe, remarked that despite the downturn in the overall market in Europe, the carmaker managed to achieve record market share in 2012, adding that Nissan is on target to match that achievement this year.
The new production model, which is aimed at reinventing the sports utility vehicle, will be joined by the Friend-Me Concept car that was unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2013.
The study showcases Nissan’s next generation design language as well as explores the possibilities of a fully connected, fully interactive cabin. The concept was designed through the same process that sparked the carmaker’s range of crossovers and was meant to explore how the car of the future may look.
Nissan created the Friend-Me to cater to the needs and desires of “permanently online passengers,” positioning itself as a hub for information and entertainment.
Nissan is also set to introduce at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show its new personalization program. This program proved to be highly successful for the Juke range, and Nissan seeks to expand it to include the new Note and new Micra.
The expanded program will also feature more accessories and color options to choose from. Nissan is likewise introducing an innovative a new 3D web configurator that allows customers to preview their dream design on every possible angle.
All-new Nissan Friend-ME presents a low and wide position with short front and rear overhangs providing a bulky, audacious and energetic vibe. The design’s vigor flows from the 'V-movement' shaped grille and glides through the bonnet and shoulder lines while the headlamps and rear combination lamps are highlighted by its exclusive boomerang-shaped lighting trademark.
The silhouette of the car totally depicts the fresh rendition of Distilled Da Qi'. The slender and lightweight floating roof and kick-up shape around the C-pillar reverberates well and delivers elegant symmetry. Similarly, the Neon Gray exterior color - specifically created to reach the tech-savvy vigorous likings - demonstrates its lines to its full extent at night.
‘Oracle stone' empowers shared enterprise
Inside, front and back, driver and passenger, each of the four seats is distinct with a similar cutting-edge style and status, because in this cabin all on board are peers – equals - and all offer the same information as the driver: speed, navigation, fuel remaining - everything.
Engaging each of the four adventurers is an exclusive center console extending from the dash to between the rear seats - a quintessential monolith in an onyx-black covering. Screens noticeable from each seat integrate flawlessly with the surface, only getting evident as they show whatever contents the talk of the moment requests. Whoever discovers chic content can move it from his phone to the on-board screens so everyone can join in the fun.
