The all-new 2015 Mercedes-AMG GT sports car will be officially unveiled next week, on 9 September 2014. Still, the naughty sports car showed its sexy ass in some screenshots taken from the DriveClub racing game that will arrive on Play Station 4.
The new game will go on sale in Europe from 8 October 2014 and for those eager to drive the new 2015 Mercedes-AMG GT we have great news as the German coupe will be available for free in the first week of launch.
The Mercedes-AMG GT will be joined by other high-performance AMG models such as the A45 AMG, CLA45 AMG, C63 AMG Coupe Black Series, SL65 AMG and the SLS AMG Coupe Black Series. What’s more interesting is that the AMG GT will be launched short after its world premiere in DriveClub.
Powering the new sports car is the new twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine codenamed M178 and capable to develop between 461 hp and 510 hp. Insiders say that the vehicle will be able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds, while top speed will be 192 mph or 310 km/h.
Mercedes-Benz will be launching the AMG GT shortly after its global debut in DRIVECLUB, a game developed by Evolution Studios exclusively for PlayStation 4. Evolution Studios worked with AMG engineers with an aim to recreate the Mercedes-AMG GT in DRIVECLUB with extraordinary accuracy.
Evolution Studios were provided with the vehicle’s technical specifications and data and were allowed to access the AMG GT on the test track. The game developer was even allowed to record the vehicle’s sound. With those data and information, Evolution Studios succeeded in recreating every aspect of the Mercedes-AMG GT in DRIVECLUB.
Mercedes currently has six AMG models featured in DRIVECLUB, the most among premium carmakers. DRIVECLUB is a PS4-exclusive racing game developed by Evolution Studios in which players compete in different racing events around the world in several modes.
The game features clubs, which players may create or join in. Likewise, players of one club can race against another club. The game encourages teamwork as players can play together to tackle different racing challenges. Nevertheless, DRIVECLUB makes full use of the networking power of the PS4 to seamlessly play with each other. As players level up, they also unlock items like new vehicles.
The all-new Mercedes-AMG GT is a sports car at its most purist iteration. Spectacular dimensions, forcefully sculptured shapes, and continuous outlines direct the all-new AMG into a modern sports car that embraces the glorious spirit of Mercedes’ sports cars. The GT is a perfect blend of beauty and intellect.
The brand-new Mercedes-AMG GT epitomises the sensory purity of emotion and sportiness. The two-seat vehicles are characterised by trademark rear-wheel-drive dimensions. The V8 bi-turbo front-mid engine guarantees optimal distribution of weight, forming the base for brilliant drive energies. The elongated bonnet with its prominent power-domes, the greenhouse with a location much further back, the ample wheels, and wide tail comprise the distinct appearance. The ample tailgate covers a functional luggage area.
Strong and intense dynamism
Brilliantly arched shapes provide the Mercedes-AMG GT with its sensual personality and the look of a sculpted artwork. Seen from its profile, the domed, arched roof outline and frameless doors are attractive features. A strong component carved into of the walls product a sensation of lightness and energy, even when the automobile is not moving.
The shapes and outlines of the side walls stream into the rear with an intense tapering effect. The GT intentionally sidesteps lines in the region of the shoulder. The only outline is just one down lower that picks up again in the rear’s bumper, stretching the body and making it seem lighter. The side air vents, each with two fins, stand for a classic styling trait of Mercedes-Benz’s sports cars. The GT has no noticeable aerials that could upset the total look.
