The new McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo has quite impressive specifications, giving out as much as 1,150 horsepower with its unique hybrid setup.
This model was made specially for the upcoming Gran Turismo Sport video game. Under the hood is a 4.0-liter V8 engine by McLaren that has been taken from the 720S. In the virtual world, the Ultimate Vision GT had been given two front wheels on both the front wheels. Thanks to its hybrid powertrain, it gets an impressive torque of 1,275 Newton metres (940 pound-feet).
The Ultimate Vision GT is not all about its four-digit horsepower and torque, and its all-wheel-drive setup. Physically, it looks like it teleported from the future to the present time. Its design is like one of McLaren’s vision of a high performance model for the year 2030 and beyond. In the video game, players will be able to drive the car with three available configurations, including Performance, Ulterior and Noir. Each configuration also looks incredibly unique in their own way. We think that the Noir is the best looking version with its blacked out livery, but there’s actually no clear winner as each variant is outstanding.
The great thing about this car though is the fact that McLaren has endless possibilities when it comes to designing the car - inside and out. This is because of the fact that it is in a video game and the designers do not have any restrictions unlike when having to deal with road going models. The car’s chassis, as well as the body and upper structure, is made of carbon fiber. This helps lower its weight for as much as 1,000 kilograms (2,204 pounds). When comparing this to the P1 GTR, it now makes it seem a lot heavier at a little under 1,400 kilos (3,086 pounds).
The single seater Gran Turismo was designed with a teardrop cabin with a wide glass area to let some natural light in, and also to boost driver’s visibility. Like many race cars out there, it was designed with aerodynamic tweaks on the exterior, down to the smallest details.
Video gamers will be able to drive the Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo beginning on October 17 when the game becomes available on PlayStation 4. Who among you are excited for this game to be launched?
If you could build one car without having any limits, what would it be, and how would it look? What sort of engine would you give it and how fast will it go?
