The all-new Honda Civic Type-R Concept arrived today at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. We already know that this new red rocket previews the styling direction for the exterior design of the production version of the new Type R that will arrive at the dealerships during 2015.
Honda describes the new Civic Type-R Concept as a ‘racing car for the road’ rather than a high performance version of a road car. The styling of the new concept car is heavily linked to perdormance, while the impressive rear spoiler has been designed for additional downforce, as a direct response to information gained through track design.
The rear wing comes with integrated taillights which are really really impressive! Honda also enlarged the upper and lower front grilles as well as the air outlets on the bonnet in order to provide cooling for the high-output engine.
Furthermore, front and rear genders have been widened to accommodate 20-inch tyres and air outlets are integrated to optimise airflow. Under the hood, there is a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder VTEC TURBO engine that promises to deliver at least 280 hp.
