After it made quite a buzz on the market, the new VW Passat (B8) received a new version as the German manufacturer unveiled the redesigned Passat (B8) Alltrack. Set to make its official debut next month at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the Passat (B8) Alltrack features a 27.5 mm increased ride height and comes with plenty of design features that underline its off-road capabilities.
As a result, the new 2015 VW Passat Alltrack shows redesigned front and rear bumpers as well as plastic elements that improve its rugged look. The interior features as standard unique Alcantara, fabric interior and metal trim, while leather is available as an option. As expected, the 2015 Passat Alltrack is offered with the 4Motion four-wheel drive system as standard.
Four driving modes will be offered by the new vehicle: Eco, Normal, Sport and Off Road. Alltrack version will be available with the same engines found on the standard model, such as a 1.4-liter TSI petrol engine developing 150 hp or a 2.0-liter TSI with 220 hp.
The latter is available only with a six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission. Three versions of the 2.0-liter TDI engine will be available, delivering 150 hp, 190 hp and 240 hp.
As expected, the biturbo version of the 2.0-liter diesel engine is the one delivering 240 hp and 500 Nm of torque from 1,750 rpm. Other highlights of the vehicle include Apple’s CarPlay, Google’s Android Auto and MirrorLink systems.
