Land Rover’s fastest-selling model, the Range Rover Evoque received its first facelift and will be shown next month at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. According to the manufacturer, the 2016 Range Rover Evoque Facelift is its first vehicle to feature full-LED adaptive headlamp technology.
Regarding the design of the new Evoque, we can observe the slimline LED foglamps, redesigned front bumper, larger air intakes, a new front grille distinguished by two bold horizontal bars as well as a new fine-mesh grille pattern.
As we said, the 2016 Evoque arrives with full-LED adaptive headlamps and the indicator function is now integrated in the vehicle’s distinctive LED daytime running lights (DRLs). Furthermore, the bonnet vents, which were available only to coupe models, are now available on five-door HSE Dynamic and Autobiography specification.
At the rear, there is a new tailgate spoiler featuring a wider and slimmer high-level LED rear brake light but also optional eye-catching new roof fins with integrated 3G antenna. Three new alloy wheel designs with two finishes are available. Inside, there are new seats and door casings, a redesigned instrument binnacle and new premium soft-touch materials.
Standard models receive Taurus grained leather and powered 8-way adjustment, while high-end models receive optional front massage seats with 14-way electric adjustment. Two new colours are available for the interior: Lunar Ice and Vintage Tan. Under the hood, there is a new aluminum Ingenium TD4 diesel engine (20-30 kg lighter than the predecessor), which delivers 150 hp (eD4 2WD) and offers a fuel economy of 4.2 l/100 km (68 UK mpg), while CO2 emissions are 109 g/km.
Moreover, Land Rover offers a more powerful version of the engine, delivering 180 hp, which offers a fuel economy of 4.8 l/100 km (59 UK mpg), while CO2 emissions are 125 g/km. Land Rover will continue to offer the existing 240 hp Si4 petrol engine, which can push the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.6 seconds, while top speed is 217 km/h or 135 mph.
This model has a fuel consumption of 7.8 l/100 km/h (36 mpg), while CO2 emissions are 181 g/km. The 2016 Range Rover Evoque will also be company’s first model to be designated as an ‘E-Capability’ variant and the most efficient models will wear a blue ‘Evoque’ badge, applied to the eD4 109 g/km (coupe) and 113 g/km (five-door) front-wheel drive derivatives.
Furthermore, the 2016 Evoque Facelift gets a series of new convenience features such as the new 8-inch InControl Touch touchscreen infotainment system. InControl Touch is offered as standard on SE Evque models. The six-speaker stereo system can be upgraded to include SD-card based satellite navigation. [source: Land Rover]
