Chevy Camaro Track Concept presented at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show

At the most-awaited 2017 Geneva Motor Show, General Motors paraded a striking and track-ready Chevy Camaro with some promising upgrades, combining Camaro’s legendary street performance and enhanced track capability.

The concept rocked the show with its head-turning satin green paint finishing, V8 engine under its hood and a stance sitting 30 mm (1.2 inches) closer to the road. The Camaro Track Concept also boasts of an expanded engine range, transmission and differential coolers as well as leverages an upgraded FE4 suspension which is lowered by 30 mm for superior cornering capability. The FE4 suspension made it even swifter when driving past corners at higher speeds.

The Geneva showcar’s electronic limited-slip differential supports extra stability. It also operates Brembo performance brakes – six –piston monoblock aluminum front calipers with performance brake pads and two-piece 14.6-inch x 1.3-inch (370 mm x 34 mm) vented and slotted Duralife rotors for superior stopping power.

The track-focused Camaro carries a powerful 6.2-liter engine which stirs up a 453 hp (333 Kw) and 617 Nm (455 lb-ft) of torque channeled to the road through an eight-speed automatic paddle shift transmission. It also rides on 20-inch sleek black alloy wheels covered in Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires and makes use of a performance exhaust which provides a powerful V8 soundtrack.

To make it even more exciting, Chevy shows off an aerodynamic kit and a cluster of lustrous black body stripes for a complementary upshot. The exterior look carries three-piece rear spoiler, upgraded front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser, smoked rear tail lamps and Black Chevrolet bowtie emblems.

It also banks on its interior cabin which has a pair of Recaro bucket seats installed, aluminum pedals, suede flat-bottomed wheels, suede knee pads and center console arm rest, and Chevrolet performance premium floor mats.

Building upon the Camaro’s sixth generation’s light and rigid chassis, the new Camaro track concept caters a host of upgrades which make it a hugely impressive vehicle on road and on track. With a performance-oriented chassis system distinctively tuned for the magnetic dampers, springs and stabilizer bars, the special Chevy Camaro model is designed to create a versatile car for drivers who are in need of a vehicle that can fulfill both the roles of a swift sports sedan for everyday road use and a high-performance car for track time on weekends.

The new Chevy Camaro Track concept has been exclusively enhanced with certified Chevrolet performance parts in the US. Only limited selection will become available in Europe in the near future.
