Geneva 2017: Mansory comes out with sportier Maserati Levante

Article by Christian A., on March 9, 2017

The 2017 Geneva Motor Show has recently opened its doors with the most spectacular display of different automotive brands from around the world. Tugging along a wide array of upgrades, Mansory steps on stage with an extra powerful, wide-bodied Maserati Levante clad in orange-tinted carbon fiber.

There, sitting at the exhibit stand is the German luxury car tuner’s eye-popping Italian crossover. The more aggressive styling and added performance is courtesy of Mansory’s new exhaust system, better air filter design and newly upgraded engine management software.

As a result, the Maserati Levante receives an additional 34 hp (25kW) which gains a total of 458 horsepower (342 kilowatts) from its 3.0-liter twin turbo V6 engine.

It was earlier reported that Maserati is looking to upgrade the crossover’s current engine to a much powerful 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8. If ever, it will use the same engine as those on the Quattroporte GTS with up to 523 horsepower (390 kW) and 524 lb-ft (710Nm) of torque.

And yes, Mansory gives its customers an option to customize the crossover’s interior. Aside from the upholstery, the aftermarket options also consist of orange-tined carbon fiber trim, sport steering wheel and new aluminum pedals for a sportier look.

In any case, Maserati has proven how its latest product has become a favorite among luxury tuning brands. For those who find Mansory’s body kit a little too loud for their taste, well, Startech also has its own booth at the Geneva Motor Show. Right there, guests will be greeted with Startech’s own version of an upgraded Maserati Levante crossover.

Exterior Design

Nevertheless, the Mansory body kit offers a wide choice of aesthetic and performance upgrades that will certainly match the CUV’s more powerful engine. One notable feature is the new hood design with distinctive air scoop at the center. There is also an upgraded front splitter that has the iconic LED lights as well as the new carbon fiber grille that looks pretty neat with its new orange bodywork.

Mansory’s wide body kit also comes with specially designed mudguards, carbon mirror housings, front lip with side flaps and carbon fiber doors. To make it even more aggressive, the package also offers a newly revised trim along the lower fascia.

The rear end meanwhile consists of a new spoiler, rear diffuser and a sporty rectangular shaped exhaust. Since this is a car that displays flashy accessories, the German auto tuner has also come up with wider fenders to go with the new set of 22-inch wheels in either Diamond of Diamond Black finishes.

MANSORY raises the storm: Refinement programmes for Maserati Levante

Maserati named its luxury SUV after a moderate easterly wind. The refinement by MANSORY however, is more like a hurricane. The vehicle has a more confident appearance than the series version due to the newly designed widebody. The front lip with side flaps and the integrated LED daytime running lights make a clear statement.

Together with the front splitters, mirror housing and the new grill mask with vertical and horizontal accents it is immediately clear: this is not about an understatement. This statement particularly characterises the wheelhouse expansions and door attachments with which Maserati is growing in width. The diffusor with the diffusor board is at the rear and the angular end pipes are perfectly adjusted to the new aerodynamic package.

The expanded roof spoiler and the rear spoiler also show that MANSORY gives the vehicle an aggressive character. The entire widebody as well as the accents on the mudguards, doors and the mask on the rear are made of orange painted visible carbon fibres. Here, the manufacturer once again shows all its skills. At MANSORY the carbon fibre parts are not bought in addition but are designed by the company and produced in in-house autoclaves.

This extensive process ensures absolute independence and freedom in terms of design due to an unrivalled vertical range of manufacture. The light alloy wheels GTurismo perfectly match the overall refinement in terms of appearance and construction. The colour variants, Diamond Black and Diamond Silver, cover ultra-high performance tyres in the dimension 265/35 in 9x22 inch front wheels, and 295/30 tyres adorn the 10.5x22 rims at the rear.

With the suitable wheel spacer MANSORY ensures that the wheels are not only suitable for the Levante series but also for the widebody. The motor development of MANSORY is building on the new agility. The V6 twin turbo of the Levante S is given a performance boost of 35 HP (25 kW). This additional power result in a newly programmed motor management, sports air filter and the new sports silencer, who angular end pipes protrude from the diffusor.

The newly designed interior presents itself in a confident manner. The new airbag sports steering wheel and the aluminium pedals are of the highest level both in terms of function and aesthetics.

The numerous orange coloured carbon applications harmoniously link the overall appearance with the interior while the needlework of the upholstered and leather-covered seats prove the high-level of craftsmanship of the upholstery shops. The extensive refinement programme once against proves that MANSORY understands what it means to create a strong unique model from a production vehicle.
