With the new C43 4MATIC Cabriolet, Mercedes-AMG is revealing the first open-top offering under the C-Class lineup. Like the C43 4MATIC Coupé, the C43 4MATIC Cabriolet is equipped with a 270 kW or 367 hp 3.0-liter V6 biturbo engine, 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission, and AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel-drive technology.
The four-seater vehicle features a discrete suspension with stiffer unique elastokinematics and three-stage adjustable damping. The open-top C43 4MATIC can cover up to 100 km with just 8.30 liters of fuel. Two vehicles under the C-Class family are in attendance at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show — the C43 4MATIC Coupé and Cabriolet models.
Production of Mercedes-AMG is seen to grow at a faster pace this year, leading to a more diverse Driving Performance world. Mercedes-AMG GmbH CEO Tobias Moers said that with the two new additions in the C-Class family, the car maker is targeting a younger group of consumers.
The respective characteristics of the five AMG DYNAMIC SELECT transmission modes— Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus, and Individual— can easily be personalized and modified with just a few taps. Drivers can modify key driving parameters such as transmission, steering, suspension, and engine response.
The speed-sensitive sports steering, made perfect with its variable ratio, improves the agile cornering of the vehicle. The power steering assistance can be modified under two modes: Comfort and Sport. The characteristic is automatically activated depending on which mode is selected and/or can be modified under the Individual AMG DYNAMIC SELECT transmission mode.
