The smallest wagon in the Mercedes-Benz family is being treated to a special version that delivers extra levels of elegance and style both on the exterior and the interior. The German premium carmaker will be unveiling this new special compact model series, the Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake Night Edition, at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.
Mercedes’ new CLA Shooting Brake Night Edition is basically a CLA Shooting Brake that is laden with exterior effects from the carmaker’s AMG performance brand as well as with a rich interior derived from the Urban Line, as marked by black and white accents. Equipped with a DCT transmission, the CLA Shooting Brake 200 d Night Edition consumes 3.9 liters of fuel per 100 km (combined) and emits 101 grams of carbon dioxide per km (combined).
With its introduction at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the new CLA Shooting Brake Night Edition marks the start of a strong barrage of Night Edition version for Mercedes’ compact class models, with AMG also offering its own Night Edition models for the compact segment. Aside from the CLA Shooting Brake, the Mercedes CLA, GLA and B-Class will also be receiving Night Edition models of their own. Interestingly, a brighter version of the Night Edition will also be launched in the future – the Night Edition Starlight.
Mercedes will commence sales of the new CLA Shooting Brake Night Edition in April and launch the special version in the market in June.
Distinguishing the CLA Shooting Brake Night Edition from the regular model is the presence of AMG features on the exterior. For instance, the CLA Shooting Brake Night Edition features a special front apron in A-Wing design, a special rear apron and striking side sill panels, as well as 18-inch multi-spoke AMG light alloy-wheels. The CLA Shooting Brake Night Edition is also marked by LED High Performance headlamps (standard) and an Edition badge on the wing. When the optional Night Package is availed, the CLA Shooting Brake Night Edition rides on completely black AMG light-alloy wheels – the first Mercedes model to do so.
Inside, the CLA Shooting Brake Night Edition boasts of black-and-white contrasts. White accents are found throughout like the white top stitching on the seats wrapped in black ARTICO man-made leather, and white top stitching on the instrument panel support also wrapped in ARTICO man-made leather. Likewise, white top stitching is found on arms rests in the doors, on the door trim and on the center console. The seat belts and the air vents also have white edges. The cord floor mats, meanwhile, sport a black-white border and Edition lettering.
When the Night Edition Starlight version is availed, the CLA Shooting Brake gains diamond radiator grille with pins in chrome as well as high-sheen multi-spoke AMG light alloy rims in titanium grey.
The CLA Shooting Brake Night Edition -- including the Night Package – could be availed at just EUR2,650 in Germany (including 19 percent VAT).
