Mercedes-AMG S65 bids farewell with new Final Edition

The vivid story of luxury performance that goes by the name of Mercedes-AMG S65 is nearing its end. AMG is basically signaling this fact by unveiling a final edition of this successful model, which is powered by the peak version of 6.0-liter V12 Biturbo engine. Dubbed as the Mercedes-AMG S 65 Final Edition, this limited edition model fuses performance and prestige, as blessed with comprehensive level of standard equipment.

In terms of exterior looks, the new Mercedes-AMG S65 Final Edition is wrapped only in a high-gloss obsidian black metallic paint finish, as complemented by air inlet grilles in matte bronze finish as well as tailpipe trims in high-gloss black. Riding on elegant 20-inch forged multi-spoke wheels, the AMG S 65 Final Edition is marked by an AMG crest on the C-pillar to underline its special status.

Inside, the cabin of the new Mercedes-AMG S65 Final Edition is upholstered in Exclusive black Nappa leather, as complemented by copper-colored contrasting topstitching. The cabin also features trim elements in high-quality carbon fiber streaked with fine copper-colored threads as well as floor mats featuring topstitching with copper-colored contrasts. Interestingly, the sedan’s pre- configured ambient light is also in copper color.

The Mercedes-AMG S 65 Final Edition is identified as a limited edition model through a “1 of 130” edition badge on the center console. The special model also boasts of “AMG Edition” insert on the steering wheel.

Powering the new Mercedes-AMG S65 Final Edition is a 6.0-liter V12 Biturbo engine that is tuned to deliver a max output of 621 hp as well as a peak torque of 738 lb-ft available at between 2,300 rpm and 4,300 rpm. Since the AMG S65 Final Edition is laden with the AMG Driver’s package as standard, the limited edition of the luxury performance sedan boasts of a top speed of 186 mph. Interestingly, the engine fitter’s badge -- “One Man – One Engine” -- comes in a special design with in exclusive black finish.

As already mentioned, the new Mercedes-AMG S 65 Final Edition comes loaded with a comprehensive array of standard equipment. For instance, standard on AMG S 65 Final Edition is the MAGIC SKY CONTROL panoramic roof and First Class rear suite with individual seats. Aside from the Warmth & Comfort package, the AMG S 65 Final Edition comes with an extended-length luxury console with temperature-controlled cup holders.

Each seat features up to 12 electric motors to allow them to be adjusted to the height of the occupant. Side rear passengers are treated to executive seats with a leg rest and backrest adjustment of up to 43.5 degrees. Mercedes-AMG will only build 130 examples of the AMG S 65 Final Edition for customers around the world.
