Hennessey Venom F5 will be debuting at 2018 Geneva Motor Show

Article by Christian A., on February 26, 2018

We are expecting a lot from Hennessey’s Venom F5, as it is reported to have a top speed of 300 miles per hour. This sounds like something no decent hypercar fan would want to pass up. And even though we have already seen the coupe variant at last year’s SEMA, the sad part is that it is not road-ready just yet. So hopefully, we see a working version of the Hennessey at the upcoming 2018 Geneva Motor Show in a few weeks.

Aside from this, the automaker will also bring the new Venom F5 to Europe for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show, says the publication CarBuzz. Together with the Venom, the company’s boss, John Hennessey will also make a special appearance in Switzerland.

The American hypercar should be right at home opposite regular attendees such as Bugatti and Koegnisegg, together with newer offerings from Italdesign, Rimac and a few others.

It should not be a problem for the Hennessey Venom F5 to hold its own beside more established marques. Apparently, the hypercar delivers as much as 1,600 horsepower (1,193 kilowatts) and 1,300 pound feet (1,762 Newton metres) of torque, coming from a 7.4 liter aluminum biturbo V8. All this power is sent to the rear wheels and is brought through a seven-speed single clutch paddle shift gearbox.

This model has been built on a lightweight chassis that features all-carbon fiber body. All in all, its total curb weight is only 2,950 pounds. And in under 10 seconds, it can go from zero to 186 miles per hour. And going from 0 to 249 mph and back to a complete rest will not take longer than 30 seconds. It claims to also have a top speed of 300 miles per hour - very impressive.

Moving into the cabin, the automaker finished it using generous amounts of leather, carbon fiber, and Alcantara. The hypercar features an Apple iPad interface located up front and in the center. And the company promises that the Venom F5 will be able to accommodate a six-foot, six inch football player, who turns out to be one of the first owners too.

Overall, only 24 examples of the F5 will be built at the automaker’s factory that is located in Sealy, Texas. To get yourself one, you must have $1.6 million in your bank account, and that does not include any options yet, which could cost a little over $600,000 making it cost over $2 million.

For those of you who are interested, you could already apply online, and if you are a fan of CEO John Hennessey, you will know where to find him in the next couple of weeks.
