Jaguar XE coming to the 2011 Geneva Motor Show

Article by Christian A., on August 26, 2010

Ever since Tata Motors took ownership of Jaguar and Land Rover in 2008, both of these companies have been on an ascending trend. They have been improving their product lineups, enticing customers with various offers, and getting recognition in the brand image aspect.

Recently, Land Rover released the Evoque compact SUV and announced the appointment of Victoria Beckham as Creative Design Executive.

Meanwhile, Jaguar is currently developing a new small sports car. According to a report from Inside Line, the vehicle which will be known as XE, will debut at next year's Geneva Motor Show.

This model will be underpinned by a shortened version of the next generation XK platform. The upcoming XK generation will be larger and will offer proper rear seats.

Still, consumers shouldn't expect that this platform will have a heavy structure that would reduce its performance.

Rather, this model will use aluminum, which lowers the weight and allows the XE, and the XK coupe and convertible to offer excellent dynamics. The XE is likely to have the same design language, judging from the latest models to have arrived from Jaguar. [via insideline]
