You need to have at least $720K to get your hands on the newly revived Stratos

At next month’s 2018 Geneva Motor Show, Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT) will showcase the revival of the iconic Lancia Stratos. Getting your hands on the New Stratos alone, which is only available in 25 examples, will be very costly.

According to Automotive News Europe, one of those will set you back 500,000 euros (around $618,000 at current exchange rates). But even if you have that amount of money, you still won’t get the New Stratos, not unless you supply a Ferrari 430 Scuderia donor car. Currently, that car has an estimated value of $108,821, according to Kelly Blue Book.

Once you’ve provided MAT with everything they need, they will chop off 7.9 inches (200 millimeters) out of the Ferrari’s wheelbase, while adding a modified intake and exhaust. The 4.3 liter V8 engine will not be able to carry out 533 horsepower (397 kilowatts), from its original output of 503 horsepower (375 kilowatts). If this is not powerful enough for you, then you can go for additional options that will boost its power to as much as 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts).

The first time we heard about the New Stratos was back in 2010. It was a one-off based on a Ferrari 430 Scuderia. Though more units were supposed to be produced, Pininfarina, the original designer refused to do this without getting permission from Ferrari.

And the Prancing Horse did not give them permission, which is why they could not build the bodies. This is why years later, MAT together with a company called New Stratos gbr, decided that they would work this out, by only making a handful of cars for those who are wealthy enough to afford them.

In Switzerland next month, both companies will have a booth at Geneva Motor Show. Here, they will display several variants of the vehicle including a standard new Stratos, a Safari version, and a GT racer.

So far, we have not gotten any details on the two variants, and all we know is that they will be attending the show. Furthermore, MAT confirms that 12 out of the 25 examples of the New Stratos that they intend to make have already been accounted for, according to Automotive News Europe.

In conclusion, the lowest amount you could get the New Stratos for (before all the options), would be $720,000. In fact, this car is more expensive than some examples of the original model.

For instance, there is an example of the original model, finished in ruby red, which sold on Bring a Trailer for $475,000. In fact, that leaves you with a lot of extra cash to get the matching watch, and even a Lancia Delta Integrale.
