Nissan wants to expand its Nismo line of factory performance models and after it unveiled the Nismo GT-R, the Nismo Juke RS, the Japanese carmaker brought at the 2013 LA Auto Show the new Sentra Nismo Concept. As expected, the new car comes with a new body kit developed by Nismo, consisting of a new front bumper with integrated LED daytime running lights and red accents, a sporty front grille featuring the Nismo lettering, side sills featuring the same red accents, a rear trunk lid spoiler, a new rear bumper featuring an aggressive design with integrated air diffuser and exhaust system and a ceter rear fog lamp.
The vehicle features a custom Bright Pearl White finish, while the 19-inch Rays aluminum-alloy wheel hide the red-painted 370Z brake calipers. Inside, we find the Recaro “Sportster” front seats with custom black leather and Alcantara appointments, rear seats wrapped in a mix of perforated black Alcantara appointments, instrument cluster with a satin carbon fiber finish, while all chrome accents are treated to a Dark Chrome finish.
The start button and tachometer feature Nismo anodized red rings. The concept car is powered by a 1.8-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine rated at 240+ hp and more than 240 lb-ft of torque.
Nissan Sentra's brand new design is sleek, innovative and elegant, mirroring a "professional" vibe focused on upwardly bound buyers who desire to drive something more prime than some of the other cars in its class. It takes from Nissan's strong new signature trapezoid-shaped grille and big wraparound headlamps with LED definition - the only car in the compact class to provide them as basic equipment. In the back, LED taillamps are also just standard, which go well with the elegant design.
In comparison to the older design, Nissan Sentra's beltline has been significantly lowered and the front fenders has a new character line, along the sides, and runs to the end at the sculpted taillamps and trunklid, providing a stronger built for the new Sentra improving outward view for passengers. Other body features include the offered heated outside mirrors with incorporated turn signals, chrome accents and door handles, and available rear and front fascias and back spoiler.
2013 Nissan Sentra is made on a new design that has cut down 150 pounds compared to the previous, making the car lighter to drive. It also aids the Sentra to give one of the biggest interior volumes in its segment, including a reasonable rear seat legroom and improved trunk capacity.
Going head to head with the previous release of the Nissan Sentra, the 2013 model provides a 2.3-inch longer overall length (182.1 inches) and a 0.6-inch longer wheelbase (106.3 inches). The front overhang is smaller and the back overhang is wider. It is somehow shorter in height (-0.6 inches) and compressed in width (-1.2 inches) for improved aerodynamics, but offers almost similar total interior volume (111.0 cubic feet compared to the previous 110.8).
