Audi announced that it will debut the R8 Competition at the 2014 LA Auto Show, a vehicle that promises to redefine the well-known German supercar. Powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine that produces 570 hp and bolted to a seven-speed S tronic transmission, the vehicle is able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.2 seconds, while top speed is 199 mph or almost 320 km/h.
As you can see from the photos, this is no ordinary R8 as the R8 Competition comes with new matte carbon exterior elements such as a fixed rear spoiler, engine bay, mirror housings, flics, side blades, a front spoiler and a rear air diffuser.
Moreover, the vehicle comes with a sport exhaust system with black high-gloss tailpipes and a new set of gloss black wheels, which hid the ceramic brakes with anodized red brake calipers.
Same theme is found at the interior where the manufacturer installed matte carbon fiber elements on the center console as well as an illuminated ‘R8 Competition’ door sill inlays.
Only 60 R8 Competition units will be available exclusively for the US market and according to Audi, customers will be able to order their vehicle as of early November.
