2017 Ram 1500 Rebel Ignition Orange Sport, Mojave Sand to debut at LA Auto Show

Article by Christian A., on November 15, 2016

With the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show just hanging around the corner (scheduled on Nov. 18 to 27), quite a number of carmakers from all over the world are presenting their newest concepts and production vehicles as well as anything that relates to the auto industry. Of course, United States-based auto companies and brands would not let this big event go by without presenting something of their own – and the Ram brand is nonetheless more than eager to show off its offerings.

Just days before the LA Auto Show, Ram is previewing a special pair of its Rebel pickup truck – the Ram 1500 Rebel Ignition Orange Sport as well as the Ram 1500 Mojave Sand. While both the Ignition Orange Sport and Mojave Sand are derived from the 2017 Ram 1500, these special edition trucks can easily be told apart from their conventional counterparts.

This means that apart from some modifications on the exterior and on the interior of the 1500 Orange Sport and the 1500 Mojave Sand, these special editions are basically the same underneath. Available powertrains remain to be the 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine providing 305 hp of output and 269 pound-feet of torque and the 5.7L HEMI V8 Engine delivering 375 hp of output and 410 lb-ft of torque.

2017 Ram 1500 Ignition Orange Sport

The Ram 1500 Ignition Orange Sport special edition is a reintroduction of a prior limited edition model with the same name. However, this version of Ram 1500 Ignition Orange Sport features a number of tweaks. The Ram 1500 Ignition Orange Sport is wrapped in monochromatic bright orange exterior paint with body-colored grille.

It comes with black Ram’s head grille badge, black tailgate badge and black body-side badges as well as black decals on its Sport performance hood. Its interior, on the other hand, feature “Copperhead” accent stitching and Sport embroidery on the seats. The cabin also reveals colored-accent sport mesh on the seat inserts and accent-color Ram’s head embroidery on the headrests. It also comes with anodized Orange-painted spears and trim rings.

Just like with the 1500 Rebel Mojave Sand, Ram is only offering 1,500 units of the Ram 1500 Rebel Orange Sports. This package is only available to the Crew Cab V-8 version of the 1500 Rebel. The Ram 1500 Rebel Orange has a starting MSRP of $43,740 (excluding $1,320 destination charge) and has started to arrive in Ram dealerships.

2017 Ram 1500 Mojave Sand

This marks the first time that a Ram truck model is available with the Mojave Sand exterior finish. This special Mojave Sand package for the new Ram 1500 Rebel covers a black-decaled performance hood and a Mopar Sport hood decal. Inside this edition’s new distinct fully black interior are black anodized bezels on the instrument panel, gauge cluster trim rings, center console and doors.

The seats are also in black with black embroidery. The instrument panel, center console lid, doors and seats are accented by Light Slate Gray accent stitching while the rubber floor mats feature embossed Ram’s head logos. A “Rebel” logo is embroidered on the seats that come with black seatbelts.

Ram will only offer 1,500 units of the 1500 Rebel Mojave Sand package starting December 2016. The package itself is priced at $595. Overall, the Ram 1500 Rebel Mojave Sand has a starting MSRP of $45,590 (excluding $1,320 destination charges).
