Buick introduces 2018 LaCrosse Avenir premium flagship sedan

There will be, indeed, a new member for Buick’s luxury sub-brand Avenir in 2018. Buick has officially introduced the inclusion of the new 2018 Buick LaCrosse Avenir premium flagship sedan, which it describes as its highest expression of luxury.

Making the LaCrosse sedan part of the Avenir sub-brand was an easy decision for Buick. Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick and GMC, noted that nine of 10 LaCrosse customers are picking one of the top two trim levels, which means that these clients are seeking more from Buick. Alfred quipped that by bearing the name Avenir, the new LaCrosse Avenir offers more content and more elegant appearance all in attainable luxury. The new 2018 LaCrosse Avenir will feature distinct styling cues, an extensive set of standard elements as well as exclusive premium materials.

Just like the recently introduced Enclave Avenir, the new LaCrosse Avenir comes with a number of design cues derived from and inspired by Buick concept cars. These design cues include the distinct three-dimensional mesh upper and lower grille with chrome wings, as well as the Avenir script badging on the front doors. As standard, the new LaCrosse Avenir rides on exclusive 19-inch Pearl Nickel. Twenty-inch Midnight Silver wheels are also available.

Meanwhile, the interior of the new LaCrosse Avenir comes loaded with a number of sub-brand-exclusive details like a Chestnut interior color theme. The interior also features embroidered first-row headrests as well as Avenir-scripted sill plates.

As for how the new LaCrosse Avenir would be propelled, power would still be sourced from the same dynamic V6 engine found in other LaCrosse models. This V6 engine delivers 310 hp of max output, as sent to the wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission as standard. Further standard features on the new LaCrosse Avenir include Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound premium audio, a panoramic moonroof and navigation.

Buick has made a number of elements available for the new LaCrosse Avenir, including the Ebony interior color theme, Dynamic Drive Package with continuous variable real-time dampening control. Intelligent Twin-Clutch AWD and an array of advanced safety features are also available.

Hurt by low sales – as evidenced by its 204-day supply of inventory – the Buick LaCrosse flagship sedan could see its fortunes go the right way with the arrival of premium luxury version bearing the Avenir badge. Buick is thus hoping that once the LaCrosse enters the luxury car market, the low-selling full-size sedan could see a brighter future ahead.

The new 2018 LaCrosse Avenir is expected to arrive at dealerships in early 2018, although Buick has yet to confirm its price. To note, the Avenir version of the Enclave is priced around $5,400 price higher than the Premium trim. This could mean that the LaCrosse Avenir would have a starting price of more than $45,000.

Buick LaCrosse Avenir Makes World Debut

With the arrival of the 2018 LaCrosse Avenir, Buick’s new sub-brand expands its offerings and provides customers a way to experience the highest expression of Buick luxury, regardless of whether they’re shopping for a car or SUV. First introduced with the 2018 Enclave that went on sale in October, Avenir features unique styling cues, an extensive set of standard features and exclusive premium materials for customers who want more.

“Nine out of ten LaCrosse buyers are choosing one of the top two trim levels — customers are signaling they want more from Buick,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick and GMC. “With even more content and an elegant look, Avenir adds a unique name and appearance for those who want the best of our attainable luxury.”

Like the Enclave Avenir, the LaCrosse Avenir’s design details were channeled from our award-winning concept cars for a more dramatic look, expressed through a unique three-dimensional mesh upper and lower grille paired with chrome wings. Avenir script badging on the front doors and exclusive 19-inch Pearl Nickel or available 20-inch Midnight Silver wheels create a commanding road presence and complement the LaCrosse’s timeless design.

“Exterior styling is very important to LaCrosse buyers, and its sculpted beauty withstands passing trends,” says Bob Boniface, global director of Buick Exterior Design. “For Avenir, we focused on maintaining the timelessness of the LaCrosse, while giving these customers subtle and tasteful details that elevate this car to a new level.”

Inside, Avenir-exclusive details include a Chestnut interior color theme, embroidered first-row headrests and Avenir-scripted sill plates.

Features available on other LaCrosse models come standard on the Avenir, including a powerful 310-horsepower V-6, nine-speed automatic transmission, navigation and Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound premium audio, as well as a panoramic moonroof.

Additional available features include Ebony interior, Intelligent Twin-Clutch AWD, Dynamic Drive Package featuring continuous variable real-time dampening control and a suite of advanced safety features.

LaCrosse Avenir will arrive at dealers in early 2018.
