Customers who want a vehicle that offers the same capability as an SUV while having space-saving features are in for a treat as Ford revealed it will be releasing to North America its newest EcoSport. And for the first time ever, the brand will be officially unveiling it through Snapchat. There will then be a pop-up event in Hollywood. The new EcoSPort from Ford not only offers a fun experience but also comes with a number of connectivity features.
Specifically, this latest offering from Ford is fitted with the brand’s very own entertainment and communications system -- the SYNC 3. Because this system is easy to use in addition to being intuitive, staying connected with family and friends is simpler. The system allows for voice recognition that is more conversational while improving vehicle response to the commands of the driver. Further, the SYNC 3 is optimized to allow hands-free use as it has been paired to a touch screen, the same ones found in tablets or smartphones.
Much like other models, the new EcoSport comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and the addition of an 8-inch screen allow those sitting in the front to better manage these. It also allows the easy operation of the B&O PLAY audio settings. Through the SYNC Connect with FordPass, drivers will now be able to locate their EcoSports no matter where they may be.
They can even use this to lock the car, unlock it, or even start the engine. This mobile app can even provide the driver with the necessary information like the odometer reading and fuel level, even if the driver is actually away from the vehicle. Occupants who want to enjoy music will appreciate the B&O PLAY premium audio system, which offers 675 watts and is made possible through the work of acoustic engineers at HARMAN.
In addition to this audio system, which is fitted as standard on the EcoSport Titanium, there are 10 speakers with the front doors having the B&O PLAY woofers and tweeters and the rear doors containing a subwoofer. Other features include SiriusXM satellite radio and HD Radio technology. To increase FM signals, a dual FM radio antenna is included.
For those who always use electronic devices, there is no issue with power as on the inside there are two USB ports that allow for fast charging. There is even a 12-power outlet on the front and at the back of the center console is a 110-volt power outlet. Those sitting in the rear can charge their devices as well with another 12-volt outlet.
This new offering will be powered with either the EcoBoost three-cylinder 1.0-liter turbocharged engine or the four-cylinder 2.0-liter version. For those who prefer the latter, it comes with the brand’s Intelligent 4-wheel drive system. However, the two engines are paired to the automatic 6-speed transmission.
Customers who want to make sure that their EcoSport stands apart from the rest will be offered the chance to customize their models. Four trim levels will be offered: S, SE, SES, and Titanium. There will be 10 colors available for the exterior with 7 choices for the ambient lighting.
