Days ago, Mercedes-Benz provided us with images of the face of the next generation 2019 CLS-Class. And today, the teasing continues as we get a view of the stylish sedan’s interior, which has a lot of red accents. Fortunately, it won’t be a long wait since the CLS will soon make its premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show in a few weeks.
While looking at the CLS-Class, we can’t help but think that it is the E-Class’ better-looking sibling, especially with its handsome interior design that’s shown here. It has an ultra-wide panel that contains the infotainment and instrument displays. This design creates the illusion of a wider interior. There is also crimson ambient lighting behind the screen that makes it more sophisticated, complete with a strip of carbon fiber trims on the HVAC vents.
Furthermore, Mercedes has informed us that this model features the newly introduced Energizing Comfort system. What makes this new feature exciting is that it is integrated on the vehicle’s comfort systems. These include the ambient lighting, climate control, and the seat’s heating, ventilation and massage functions. Passengers can enjoy several modes when it comes to comfort, and these include Freshness, Warmth, Vitality, and Joy modes. Like the S-Class, there are also options like Comfort and Training.
The earlier teaser that we mentioned earlier gave us a look at the sedan’s nose. Here, we saw sharp-edged LED running lights outlining the top sections of a broad grille. And based on the spy shots, we could tell that the four-door is made more stylish with its arching roof. It also looks like it can store a lot with its huge trunk.
We are expecting the new CLS-Class to be given a turbocharged four-cylinder. At the same time, we think that Mercedes’ new inline six gas and diesel fueled engines will join the powertrain lineup. Instead of releasing a new CLS 63, the top model will instead come out with a CLS 53 AMG with an inline six and electric motor with 496 horsepower (370 kilowatts). This is because the former may be too similar to the four-door AMG GT.
Another thing that we know about the CLS-Class is that it will be underpinned by the new MRA (Modular Rear Architecture) platform, the same as the E-Class model. And inside will be the new generation cabin technology cabin suite with the automaker’s Mbrace connectivity suite.
Well, the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show is just around the corner, and by then we will get a detailed look and of course, complete details about the CLS-Class.
