2014 New York Auto Show: 2015 Infiniti QX80 Limited is a top of the line SUV

Earlier this week we revealed you the updated 2015 Infiniti QX80, but for those who want even more, the Japanese manufacturer unveiled the 2015 Infiniti QX80 Limited at the 2014 New York International Auto Show. According to Infiniti, this is unlike any SUV ever as it comes with exclusive features including an upgraded level of craftsmanship.

First of all, you have to know that the QX80 Limited starts with a fully equipped 2015 QX80 and adds subtle exterior upgrades and a refined interior. The exterior highlights of the 2015 Infiniti QX80 Limited are the dark finish for the LED headlights, tinted rear combination lamps and special lightning under the brushed finished running boards, a dark chrome finish for the upper and lower grille surround, fog light surround, side vents, roof rails and crossbar, A-pillar finisher, door handles, license plate surround and side mirror caps.

Furthermore, 22-inch aluminum-alloy wheels featuring a unique dark finish treatment complete the exterior design.

Infiniti QX80 Limited will be available in three exclusive exterior colors: Imperial Black, Mocha Almond and Dakar Bronze. Three more colors are shared with all QX80s: Liquid Platinum, Black Obsidian and Majestic White. Inside, we find unique Truffle Brown leather, unique seat quilting with silver accent piping and natural-tone genuine Ash wood.

The headliner and pillars (A-, B- and C-pillars) are covered with an Ultrasuede leather lining, while the steering wheel is wrapped in special high-grade, smooth leather. If you don’t like what you see, this means that the QX80 Limited is not for you as there are no option packages. Under the hood, there is a 5.6-liter V8 engine that develops 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque.

This engine is bolted to a 7-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control (ASC) and manual shift mode with Downshift Rev Matching (DRM). Infiniti QX80 Limited comes as standard with the Driver's Assistance Package, 22" Wheels, Theater Package and Deluxe Technology Package.

2015 Infiniti QX80

As designed by Infiniti, the new 2015 QX80 again combines inspired design and performance, allowing the luxury performance SUV to stand out among its rivals in its class. By intelligently combining power, strength and luxury as well as spaciousness, the new 2015 Infiniti QX80 is able to accommodate up to eight adult passengers and their luggage.

Moreover, the drivetrain of the new QX80 is design to be rugged enough to offer up to 8,500 lbs of towing capacity when properly equipped while still comfortable enough to carry one’s family or friends. Furthermore, the all-new Infiniti QX80 offers higher levels of ride comfort and lower degrees of noise, vibration and harshness, thanks to its stiff frame structure.

Infiniti is offering the new QX80 either in rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configuration. The AWD version is provided with Infiniti's All-Mode AWD system with Auto, 4H and 4L modes. Power – pegged at 400 hp of max output and 413 lb.-ft. of peak torque -- is derived from a 5.6-liter V8 engine that is both responsive and efficient, thanks to the VVEL (Variable Valve Event & Lift) and the Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG) technology. Power is sent to the wheels through a seven-speed automatic gearbox with Adaptive Shift Control (ASC) and manual shift mode with Downshift Rev Matching (DRM).

Complementing this power is an independent double-wishbone design for both front and rear axles. This suspension system features Dual-Flow PathO twin tube shock absorbers as well as an automatic rear leveling system that allows the QX80 to maintain uniform ground clearance and departure angle, even while towing or carrying cargo. This is achieved by adjusting automatically the air pressure in the system's air bladders. Both rear-wheel and four-wheel drive models of the QX80 are available with an advanced Hydraulic Body Motion Control system as part of the Deluxe Technology Package. The Hydraulic Body Motion Control system could reduce body lean in turns, thereby improving ride comfort for all passengers, wherever they might be seated. Hydraulic chambers -- integrated into each shock absorber -- automatically control suspension travel.
