Jeep recently released what can be considered as the most luxurious model of the full-size SUV class with the 2017 Grand Cherokee Summit. In addition to having the usual premium amenities, the exterior has an updated look with the new front fascia and the grille and LED fog lamps.
Even the polished aluminum 20-inch wheels contribute to its upper class looks. The interior meanwhile will have the full-wrap Laguna leather with the Ski Gray and Indigo color scheme, one of the four available. Its full leather interior has its door panels, center console, and dashboard wrapped in Nappa leather.
Furthermore, the Laguna leather seats have the edge welting. The interiors are also offered in Dark Sienna Brown, Brown, and Black colors. All of the Summit models will have the lighted door sill, premium headliner, and acoustic windshield and full side glass.
It also offers premium Berber carpet mats, Active Noise Cancellation, and the Harmon/Kardon 19-speaker 825-watt amp audio system with three subwoofers. There are features like headlamp washers and auto-folding power mirrors.
Technological features in the 2017 Summit include the Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, and Forward Collision Warning. For the first time, the company will also be offering in the 2017 Summit the Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist and even the Lane Departure Warning. As part of the Grand Cherokee lineup, all of the Summit models will have the Quadra-Drive II 4x4 system with the Electronic Limited Slip Differential and even the Quadra-Lift air suspension and Selec-Speed Control.
Exterior paints available for the Summit are Bright White, Diamond Black Crystal, Granite Crystal, Ivory Pearl, Light Brown Stone, Luxury Brown, True Blue, and Velvet Red. Jeep Grand Cherokee has been the definition of what premium SUVs should be.
This SUV has received the most awards. The Summit versions will have extra features and even have the Summit California Edition appearance package that improves even further its already premium exterior aesthetics.
It is powered with the EcoDiesel 3.0-liter V-6 engine paired with the eight-speed transmissions. It can reach a range in excess of 730 miles and even then, it has a fuel economy rating of 30 mpg highway, the best for its segment. As expected from the Summit, it also carries the capabilities Jeep is known for.
This is all thanks to the three 4x4 systems, Selec-Terrain traction management system, and Quadra-Lift air suspension system. It even exhibits the best towing in its class at 7,400 pounds and a 44.1:1 crawl ratio.
The design of the exterior has been refined to a point that it results in having a premium appearance. It even has the bi-xenon headlamps with the trademarked LED daytime running lamps. The interior has the same feel with premium amenities like unique color offerings, Natura leather, and exotic open-pore wood trim.
