This may be the sports car that will suit Batman's taste and can possibly replace the Bat mobile. Cue the Batman soundtrack; let's feast our eyes on Maserati's new creation: the Limited Edition black trim package dubbed the "Ghibli Nerissimo".
Using all black on a vehicle is becoming a bigger trend nowadays, with the Japanese car manufacturer Nissan offering a Midnight Package and Chevrolet also competing with its Midnight Edition Trucks. Now the Italian automaker powerhouse Maserati is following suit with its rival releases and it has decided to jump on the bandwagon with its Ghibli Nerissimo package, which directly translates to "extremely black" in English. The newly unveiled Black Beast awesomely contrasted with the bright halls of the 2017 New York Auto Show, getting a whole lot of attention from interested spectators.
The limited edition package will not only be on the 345 hp Ghibli, but is also made available with the 404 hp Ghibli S and Ghibli S Q4 models. All sports car with the Nerissimo package will feature a sports steering wheel, adaptive dampers, shift paddles, 12 way power front seats, a blind spot monitor, rear and front parking sensors, and a remote starting system.
Nerissimo Edition will also feature black trim for the door handgrip, window trim and grille. The vehicle is also fitted with a set of 20 inches Urano black finish wheels with blood red brake callipers to provide contrast to the already blacked out sports car. Maserati is not limiting its body color options, however the dark shade is a natural choice to be able to highlight its tweaks.
Interior-wise, Nissan is also yielding to its dark side with its interior also awesomely draped in dark materials. Black leather encases the heavily reinforced seats, dashboards and armrests. Moreover, Nissan decided to break up the monochrome interior by introducing red stitching and bright red gearshift paddles, also matching the blood red callipers outside the car.
Furthermore, the Ghibli S and SQ4 models will be further equipped with a more premium Harman Kardon stereo system. Also, each of the Nerissimo branded vehicle will have a one-of-a-kind plaque that will connote the build number of the sports car, with a badge placed on the center console that will feature the number of the car. If this Nerissimo package interests you, hurry up as only 450 units of these Dark Sports Car will be offered for buyers in the United States and Canada markets.
However, the Nerissimo edition will not provide any upgrade with regards to the powertrain department. But don't worry as there is a plan for a Ghibli reinvention in the future, with a possible boost for the 404 hp of the 3.0 L biturbo V6.
If you are willing to dish out some of your well-earned cash, the official price for the package is out. Opting for a standard Ghibli converted into a Nerissimo unit will cost $72,850: a $5,650 increase. Turning the Ghibli S or S Q4 into the same black-out vehicle will be more expensive, requiring you to add $6,800 more.
