Undeniably the crowd favourite at the Geneva Motor Show, the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo is getting ready to turn more heads and steal the spotlight at the Big Apple this weekend for its U.S. Premiere as it travels from Stuttgart to New York.
The long-roofed Panamera is definitely one of the most appealing cars today. With a wide opening rear tailgate and a loading floor that is only two feet off the ground. This is definitely an upgrade from the second generation.
The Sport Turismo’s four trim packages are as follows: Panamera 4, with a 3.0 liter turbo V6 engine that produces 330 horsepower that speeds up to 60 miles per hour in 5 seconds. Panamera 4S with a twin-turbo 2.9 liter yielding 440 horsepower and sprints 60 miles per hour in 4 seconds, the 4 E-Hybrid that is equipped with a 4S powertrain and a 136-HP electric motor. And last, the Panamera Turbo Sport that can drive from 0-60 miles per hour in 3.4 seconds with the help of its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which can produce 550 horsepower.
For buyers who prefer to get the whole package, basically ticking off all the options available, be ready to shell out a check that writes $235,560 for the flagship model. This does not only come with a biturbo 4.0 liter V8 powered engine that yields up to 550 horsepower (410 kilowatts) and 567 pound-feet (769 Newton metres) paired with an eight-speed, dual clutch transmission. This amount already includes the shipping and handling fee of $1,050.
But you’re not just paying for that of course. The complete package includes a SportDesign Package that gives your car a better body kit. From a two-tone exterior paint job, glossy black accents, and a sport exhaust system. Furthermore, it will be equipped with an electronically controlled rear differential, adaptive power steering, rear-wheel steering, and carbon ceramic brakes. Lastly, 20- or 21-inch alloys are included in the package, along with an active roll stabilization suspension with active electromechanical anti roll bars. Yup, that is all you get for an additional $80,510.
The updated 911 GT3 together with the 911 GTS, and the brand new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid will be coming along with the Panamera Sport Turismo, to complete the Panamera sedan family at the 2017 New York Auto Show.
